Office of the Director General & Commandant General of Police Home Guards under Govt. of West Bengal, is inviting application for the engagement of 2268 “Home Guard Volunteer”. Class VIII pass Boys and Girls (Males/ Females) may apply for the post. Interested candidates may apply on prescribed application format. Qualification norms and eligibility norms in brief is given below —
HOME GUARD VOLUNTEERS

Distribution of vacancies according to District/ Commissionerate wise are as follows —
South 24 Parganas : 157nos.
North 24 Parganas : 57 Nos.
Howrah : 141 Nos.
Howrah Commissionerate : 161 Nos.
Asansole-Durgapur Commissionerate : 110 Nos.
Nadia : 212 Nos.
Murshidabad : 315 Nos.
Hooghly : 259 Nos.
Burdwan : 211 Nos.
Birbhum : 200 Nos.
Darjeeling : 247 Nos.
Coochbehar : 198.
Educational qualification: Candidates must be Class VIII pass.
N.B: Candidates must be residing in the above listed Districts/ Commissionerate for last 3 years.
Age Limits: Between 18yrs to 35yrs as on 01-04-2013
Minimum Physical Standard
For Male Home Guard : Height 160 cm; Chest 76 cm; Weight 51 kgs
For Female Home Guard : Height 152 cm; Weight 44 kgs.
Candidates’ Selection:
1. Candidates submitting valid application will be called for Physical Measurement at the 1st step.
2. Candidates who will qualify in Physical Measurement will be considered for Physical Efficiency Test.
Qualifying Standard: A) For Male Home Guards 800 Mtrs. Run to be completed in 3 Minute; B) 100 mtrs run within 15 seconds and C) 12ft long jump
For Lady Home Guards— A) 400 Mtrs. Run to be completed in 2 Minute; B) 100mtrs run within 25 seconds and C) 8ft long jump.
3. The candidates who will qualify in Physical Efficiency Test will be called for interview.
How to Apply: Candidates may apply on plain A4 size paper preparing the Application form as per format. (Visit the below given link to download the application form)
The Application form must be enclosed with two self-addressed envelope affixed with postal stamp worth Rupees 5/- and Attested copies of testimonials in support of the age proof, educational qualification and proof of residence and Etc.
Superscribe the application form containing envelope with – “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF HOME GUARD”.
Last Date of the Application: The duly filled Application form along with enclosures must be submitted at the Office of the Superintendent of Police, Home Guards OR Office of the Commissioner of Police, Home Guards of the concerned District / Commissionerate within the scheduled date.
