Public Service Commission, West Bengal (WBPSC) is recruiting 72 persons in the posts of – Programme Officer, Sub-Divisional Information and Cultural Officer, Agricultural Marketing Officer (Jute Grading), Sub-Editor, Inspector of Legal Metrology, Librarian, Assistant District Library Officer and Motor Vehicles Inspector (Non-Tech)  for various departments of West Bengal. Under Information & Cultural Affairs Department
Qualification: (i) Degree (Hons) from recognised University, (ii) 5yrs experience in relevant field and (iii) Diploma/Certificate in Computer Application
Age: max 35yrs
Pay Scale: Rs.9000—Rs.40500 and Grade pay—Rs.4700

Sl.No.2 – Sub-Divisional Information & Cultural Officer: 8 Nos. (OBC-1; SC-2; ST-1; Gen-4)
Under Information & Cultural Affairs Department
Qualification: Degree from recognised University and Degreeor Diploma in Journalism/ Mass Communication/ Public Relations
Age: max 32yrs.
Pay scale: same as above

Sl.No.3 – Agricultural Marketing Officer (Jute Grading): 2 Nos. (Gen)
Under Junior Agricultural Service (Marketing)
Qualification: B. Sc. with Agriculture or B.Sc. with Diploma in Jute Technology OR B.Sc. from a recognised University with 2 years’ experience in Jute Grading works
Age and pay scale: same as above.

Sl.No.4 – Sub-Editor for Bengali and English Language: 1 Nos. (ST)
Under Information & Cultural Affairs Department
Qualification: Degree (Hons) from recognised University, 3 yrs experience in relevant works, ability of making translation from Bengali to English and vice-versa and experience in page designing in computer. For details refer the Advt. available on the official site of West Bengal PSC.
Age: max 35yrs
Pay scale: Rs.9000—Rs.40500 and Grade pay—Rs.4400

Under Consumer Affairs Department.
Qualification: Degree of a recognised University in Science (with Physics as one of the subjects) or Technology or Engineering or a recognised Diploma in Engineering.
Age: max 32yrs.
Pay scale: same as above.

Sl.No.6 – Librarian: 1 Nos. (Gen)
Under Dept. of Mass Education Extension and Library Services.
Qualification: Master degree in Library Science OR Master’s Degree of a recognised University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science.

Pay scale: Rs.7100—Rs.37600

Sl.No.7 – Assistant District Library Officer: 1 Nos. (Gen)
Under Dept. of Mass Education Extension and Library Services.
Qualification: Master’s Degree in Library Science or Master’s Degree of a recognised University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science
Age: max 37yrs
Pay scale: Rs.7100—Rs.37600 and Grade Pay—Rs.4100

Qualification: Degree from recognised University and should meet the below Physical Standards—
Height – 170 Cms. And 160 Cms. (for Hillmen & Tribal candidates)
Chest – 86 Cms. (after expiration). And 81 Cms. (after expiration) [for Hillmen & Tribal candidates]
Age: 32yrs
Pay scale: Rs.7100—Rs.37600 and Grade pay: Rs.3900

N.B: Candidates should have ability to read, write and speak in Bengali (not applicable for Nepali speaking candidates from the district of Darjeeling). Posts at Sl. No. 2, 5, 6, 7 & 8 are temporary (likely to be permanent). All other posts are permanent.

Age relaxation: Above mentioned age will be counted as on date 1/1/2012. Relaxation is as per govt. norms.

Application Fee: Rs.160 should be paid by candidates in form of Crossed Indian Postal Order endorsed to the Secretary, Public Service Commission, West Bengal, or by a receipted Challan from a Govt. Treasury in West Bengal or the Reserve Bank of India, Kolkata under the head “0051-00-105-State PSC Examination fees-001-Examination fees-16 other fees”. The Postal Orders should be made payable at G.P.O., Kolkata.
N.B: SC/ST/PH candidates of West Bengal do not need to pay any fee.

Candidates may apply for more than one post, in such case they should submit separate Application along with prescribed fee.
Candidates, if applicant in respond to the Advt. is large, will be selected on basis of Screening Test/Interview.

Completed application must be submitted along with the copies of the following documents either Self Certified or attested by competent authority: (i) Madhyamik or equivalent certificate. (ii) S.C./S.T./B.C.( category ‘A’ or ‘B’)/Persons with Disability certificate issued by competent authority. (iii) Registration certificate for citizenship (if by registration) as required under item 9(b) of the application. (iv) Marksheet and certificate for each examination passed. (v) Experience certificate, if applicable.
Two self-addressed unstamped envelopes and one self-addressed post card should be enclosed with the application.
