Assistant Teacher in West Bengal SSC. West Bengal School Service Commission has started collecting Online and Offline Application form.

West Bengal School Service Commission (West Bengal SSC) is taking online application for the post of “Assistant Teacher – (Assistant Master/ Assistant Mistress)” for the 12Th Regional Level Selection Test, 2011. Almost 54000 vacant seats have been created—

Chairman of West Bengal School Service Commission have told in press conference that almost 7210 vacant posts have been created for the post of “Assistant Teacher” through 12th RLST in Junior High, Madhyamik School, Junior Madhyamik School, Higher Secondary School in “Pass Category” and “Honours/ P.G. Category”. Advt.No. 01/AT/11, dated-29/12/2011
But before publication; the numbers of posts increases to almost 15000 and as per Central Government’s Right to Education law additional vacant posts of 39500 have been approved and thus total numbers of vacant posts stands at almost 55000 vacant posts.

Candidates may apply either Online or Offline. Online application form submission can be done from official website of West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC)—http://www.westbengalssc.com and for Offline application, form can be collected from branches of State Bank of India.

Through the 12th RLST Level Regional Test in Bengali Medium’s Pass Categories will recruit Assistant Teacher for 11 subjects and in Honours/P.G. Categories will recruit Assistant Teacher for 29 subjects.

Subjects in categories wise is given below—
ASSISTANT TEACHER IN ‘PASS CATEGORY’ WILL BE ON FOLLOWING SUBJECTS/TOPICS:
1. Bengali, English, Geography, Hindi, History, Sanskrit and Arabic
Who can apply—Graduate Boys and Girls from U.G.C. recognised University may apply. Candidate willing to appear on his/her choice of topic should have read on that topic with at least of 300 marks may apply on Madhyamik or Junior Madhyamik level school for that particular topic.
Honours Graduate boys/girls on above mentioned topics may also apply but if done Special B.A. Course in any mentioned topics then is not eligible to apply.

2. Biological Science.
Who can apply—Graduate pass with any one topic among Zoology, Physiology and Botany and with any one topic among Microbiology, Bio-Technology and Agronomy may apply.
Zoology, Physiology, Botany, Microbiology, Biotechnology or Agronomy Graduate pass boys/girls with on any one pass topic from Zoology, Physiology or Botany and with at least in any one pass topic from Microbiology, Biotechnology and Agronomy may also apply.

3. Work Education.
Who can apply—Candidate with eligibility in any one of below mentioned may apply—

1. Graduate boys/girls in Commerce, Science or Arts discipline from U.G.C. recognized University and have done Post Graduate Basic Training (P.G.B.T.) from National Council of Teachers Education/ R.C.I. recognized Institutes were eligible to apply OR B.Ed Course in Work Education Method from N.C.T.E./ R.C.I. recognized Institute may apply.
2. Graduate candidate, in any discipline, with Diploma/ Degree in Arts & Crafts from recognized University or Institute may apply OR Degree/ Diploma course in Tailoring may also apply.
3. Graduate boys/girls, in any discipline, with Diploma (at least of 2yrs)/ Degree of Tailoring & Needle Works from any recognized University or Institute.
4. Degree from recognized University on Home Science/ Agriculture OR Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Software System’s Degree (B.Sc) course pass candidates may apply.
5. Degree course pass in Visual Arts or Performing Arts from recognized Institute/University may apply.
6. Graduate candidates in discipline of Arts, Commerce or Science have studied of 300 marks in Computer Science/ Computer Application in the degree course may apply.

Physical Education:
Who can apply—Graduate boys/girls, in any discipline, having done Diploma/Degree course of Physical Education from N.C.T.E./ R.C.I. recognised Institute may apply.


Desirable Education: For all the above mentioned subjects/topics candidates with B.T./ B.Ed/ P.G.B.T. Course or State Government’s approved B.T./ B.Ed/ P.G.B.T. Course’s equivalent training course in desirable. But those who did not have passed B.T./ B.Ed or P.G.B.T. course were also eligible to apply.

Salary: Rs.7100 – Rs.37600 and Grade Pay: Rs.4100. beginning salary will be approx Rs.18304.

TEACHER IN CATEGORY OF HONOURS/P.G. IS ON THE BELOW GIVEN TOPICS/SUBJECTS
1. Bengali, English, Commerce, Sanskrit, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, History, Geography, Agronomy, Home-Science, Political Science, Economics, Philosophy, Education, Sociology, Nutrition, Psychology, Computer Application, Computer Science, Home Management and Home Nursing, Statistics,  Economic Geography, Fine Arts & Crafts, Santali, Arabic, Music and Hindi subjects/topics’ Honours Graduate done boys/girls may apply for the post of Assistant Teacher in Higher Secondary level schools.
Post Graduate boys/girls on above mentioned topics were also eligible to apply.

2. Biological Science—Honours Graduate or Post Graduate boys and girls in any one of the topic among Zoology, Botany and Physiology may apply for this group.

Desirable Education: For all the above mentioned subjects/topics candidates with B.T./ B.Ed/ P.G.B.T. Course or State Government’s approved B.T./ B.Ed/ P.G.B.T. Course’s equivalent training course in desirable. But those who did not have passed B.T./ B.Ed or P.G.B.T. course were also eligible to apply.

Salary:-
For Honours Graduate Teacher—Rs.9000 – Rs.40500 and Grade pay: Rs.4700. starting salary will be Rs.21500
For Post Graduate Teacher—Rs.9000 – Rs.40500 and Grade pay: Rs.4800. starting salary will be Rs.22963

Note:

• Higher Secondary pass boys and girls who have acquired minimum 50% marks and have done 4 years of Degree Course of Elementary Education (B.L.Ed) may apply for the post of “Assistant Teacher”
• Higher Secondary pass with 50% marks boys and girls who have done 4yrs of Degree course of B.A/ B.Sc. Ed or B.A. Ed or B.Sc. Ed may apply for the post of Assistant Teacher.
• Graduate boys/girls with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and have studied of 300 marks on any one of particular subject and have done 1 year of B.Ed (Special Education) course were also eligible to apply.

Age limitation: Candidate should be within 20yrs to 40yrs as on 1-1-2011, i.e. date of birth should be within 1-1-1974 to 1-1-1994.
Age relaxation: OBC-3yrs, SC/ST-5yrs, PH- 8yrs. West Bengal Secondary Board/West Bengal Govt. Aided Junior High/ High/ Higher Secondary School’s approved Teacher or non-Teaching staff OR Samprasarak, Head Samprasarak of S.S.K, Shiksa Mitra of Rabindra Mukta Bidhyalaya or Special Educator, Graduate PTTI Trainee and Ex-Serviceman may apply even in within 55yrs of age.

Candidates willing to apply for any Medium School should have studied that language/subject as a First/Second/Third language in their Madhyamik, Higher Secondary and Degree Course.

Selection of Candidates: Candidates will be selected through 12th Level Regional Test (12th RLST) of West Bengal Staff Selection Commission.
Written Exam will be on the month of May from 11am to 2pm. Exam will be on the same day for all Region and Topics. The venue and examination centre will be informed to the candidates through Admit Card which will be released two weeks before the date of Write Test.
Written Test will be of 150 Marks. First paper will be of 60 Marks (Total 30 Nos. questions and each question will be of 2 marks). Answer should be written in short within 3-4 lines.
Second paper will be of 90 marks. The questions will be set as of TET (Teacher Eligibility Test). This paper will be consist 3 parts—(I) Chld Development and Pedagogy, (II) Language Paper-I (Grammar and Comprehensive), (III) Language Paper-II (Grammar and Comprehensive). Question for each part will be Objective Multiple Choice Type.
There will be no negative marking in any papers. Second paper will be scrutinized first and candidates who will obtain 60% marks (55% for SC/ST and PH) or 54 Marks (49.5 marks for SC/ST and PH) will be qualified. And then First paper will be checked

All the qualified candidates (on basis of marks obtained in written test and Academic score) will be called Personality Test through Call letter.

All in total 190 marks of Exam will be held for the selection of candidates—
– 150 marks of Written Test
– 40 marks of Academic Score (Educational qualification- 24marks, B.Ed qualification- 6 marks. Teaching work- 5marks—0.5 marks will be added with experience of 1year likewise 1 marks will be given for 2yrs of experience and likewise maximum experience of 10yrs or more; 5marks will be added).
– Personality Test of 5 marks.
During preparing shortlist of candidates, the marks obtained in second paper will not be added.

Candidate applying offline should collect the application form from Bank of the region on where candidates will to work and should deposit the form on the same Bank. If any candidate, for some cause, collects application form from another Region then she/he will have to work on that Region if job is given.

Before applying online candidates will require to deposit exam fee through State Bank of India by fee challan. Fee Challan can be downloaded from the official website of W.B. SSC given above.
Candidate should have their own e-mail id. After depositing the fee candidate may log into official website and fill the online application form. After clicking the submit button, a computer generated application form with unique registration number will appear.
Candidate should make print-out copy of the computer generated application form and keep safely with them for further use. There is no need to send any document by post.
