Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Tiruchirappalli, is recruiting 750 Artisans in the trades of – Fitter, Welder, Turner, Machinist, Electrician, Crane Operator cum Rigger, Instrument Mechanic, Furnace Operator. Application can be made online from the official site of BHEL. Details below—
Artisans: 750 Nos. (Gen-399; OBC-202; SC-142; ST-7). Out of total posts—Ex-Serviceman: 108nos. and PH: 23nos.

Fitter: 379 Nos.
Welder: 178 Nos.
Turner: 40 Nos.
Machinist: 57 Nos.
Electrician: 19 Nos.
Crane Operator cum Rigger: 60 Nos.
Instrument Mechanic: 5 Nos.
Furnace Operator: 12 Nos.
Required Qualification as per Trade: –
For Fitter—Madhyamik pass. Candidates should have National Trade Certificate (NTC) and National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) in the trade of Fitter or Sheet Metal Worker.
For Welder, Turner, Machinist, Electrician and Instrument Mechanic—Madhyamik pass and with NTC and NAC certificate in respective trades.
For Crane Operator cum Rigger: Madhyamik pass and NTC and NAC certificate in Mechanic (Motor Vehicle) Trade.
For Furnace Operator: Madhyamik pass and NTC and NAC certificate in trade of Forger and Heat Treater.
N.B: General and OBC candidates must have obtained minimum of 60% marks in both NTC and NAC whereas for SC/ST candidates—55% in both NTC and NAC.
Working knowledge in Tamil is desirable (Not mandatory)
Age limit: Candidates should be within 27yrs of age as on 1/4/2012.
Pay Scale: Rs.11700—Rs.23000
Candidates should be physically fit and must have sound health. Medical examination will be there during selection process.
Selection steps: Candidates will be selected through Objective Written Type Test which will be conducted at Tiruchirappalli. Question paper will be in English, Hindi and Tamil (tri- lingual). Qualified candidates on basis of written examination will be called for Personal Interview

Application fee of Rs.125 is to be paid (for General and OBC candidates only) through Fee Challan which can be deposited in any branch of State Bank of India into Power Jothi A/c, No 30796267034 @ HE, Kailasapuram, Trichy-14 (code no.01363) in favour of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, Tiruchirappalli.
Fee challan can be downloaded in triplicate from the website mentioned above. More information can be found there. SC/ST and Ph candidates do not require to pay Application fee.
After depositing the Application fee, visit the website— http://careers.bhel.in and fill the online application form. right after submitting the online application form, a system generated Acknowledgement Slip will appear on the computer screen. Candidates should make print-out copy of the generated Acknowledgement slip and then sent it by Post along with all essential copies of documents.
Candidates should enclose the following documents along with Acknowledgement slip—
- Original Fee Challan (Bhel copy)
- Caste Certificate, for SC/ST and OBC candidates
- PH Certificate issued by medical board in case of PH candidates
- Qualification Certificate and Age proof certificate
- Trade and Apprentice Certificate
- Experience certificate, if any and any other relevant documents
On the top of envelope, superscribe the name of post and name of trade applied for.
