Border Security Force (BSF), Water Wing – Recruitment of 293 SI, HC and CT. Last Dt. 03/08/2014 (18.08.2014)

Border Security Force (BSF) is recruiting 293 Sub-Inspector (Workshop/ Master/ Eng. Driver), Head Constable (Master/ Workshop/ Eng. Driver) and Constable (Crew) in Group ‘B’ & ‘C’ of Water Wing, for the year 2014. Selection of the candidates will be through All India Examination. Interested and eligible candidates may apply on prescribed application format (See PDF below). Qualification norms and brief details are given below —

1. SI (Workshop): 1 Nos. (OBC)
Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engg. OR 03 years Diploma in Mechanical or Marine or Auto mobile Engineering.
Age: 20 to 25yrs.
Pay Scale: Rs.9300—34800 and Grade Pay: Rs.4200/-

2. SI (Master): 10 Nos. (Gen—7; OBC—1; SC—1; ST—1)
Qualification: 10+2 or its equivalent and Second class Master Certificate issued by the Central or State Inland Water Transport Authority of Mercantile Marine Department.
Age: 22 to28yrs.
Pay Scale: Rs.9300—34800 and Grade Pay: Rs.4200/-

3. SI (Engine Driver): 13 Nos. (Gen—8; OBC—3; SC—1; ST—1)
Qualification: 10+2 or its equivalent and First Class Engine Driver Certificate issued by the Central or State Inland Water Transport Authority of Mercantile Marine Department.
Age: 22 to28yrs.
Pay Scale: Rs.9300—34800 and Grade Pay: Rs.4200/-

4. HC (Master): 68 Nos. (Gen—32; OBC—19; SC—10; ST—07)
Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent and shall possess Serang Certificate.
Age: 20 to 25yrs.
Pay Scale: Rs.5200—20200 and Grade Pay: Rs.2400/-

5. HC (Engine Driver): 66 Nos. (Gen—28; OBC—24; SC—7; ST—7)
Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent and shall possess 2nd  Class Engine Driver Certificate.
Age: 20 to 25yrs.
Pay Scale: Rs.5200—20200 and Grade Pay: Rs.2400/-

6. HC (Workshop): 1 Nos. (SC)
Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent and ITI Diploma in Motor Mechanic (Diesel/ Petrol Engine), Machinist/ Welder/ Carpentry/ Electrician/ Fitter/ Air Conditioner Technician/ Electronics/ Plumbing/ Upholstering/ Painting.
Age: 20 to 25yrs.
Pay Scale: Rs.5200—20200 and Grade Pay: Rs.2400/-

7. CT (Crew): 134 Nos. (Gen—57; OBC—36; SC—22; ST—19)
Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent and One year experience in operating of Boat below 265 HP as a Sukhani or Greaser and shall have swimming knowledge (with swimming knowledge certificate)
Age: 20 to 25yrs.
Pay Scale: Rs.5200—20200 and Grade Pay: Rs.2400/-

Note: From total vacancies of 293 Nos., 10% of vacancies are reserved for Ex-Servicemen.

Upper age relaxation: Age mentioned above shall be counted s on last date of receipt of application. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST – 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; PWD- 10yrs; Ex-Serviceman and Others – As per norms.

Physical Standards: Height—165 cms (160 for ST/Adivasis/Nagas & Mizos) and Chest (unexpanded/ expanded) —75/80cms (73/78 cms for ST/Adivasis/Nagas & Mizos); Weight—Proportionate to height and age as per medical standards.
Cut-off in Height and Chest will be applicable for candidates from Hilly areas/ Hill States (North Eastern States), as per Govt. norms. (See the PDF file given below).

Candidates’ Selection: Selection of the candidates will be through Written Examination, Documentation & Physical Measurement, Physical Efficiency Test, Trade Test and Interview & Medical Examination.
Written Test will be objective with multiple choice question. 

Physical Efficiency Test will be as follows —
1. One Mile Race: within 08 minutes.
2. High Jump: 3ft 06 inches with 3 chances.
3. Long Jump: 11 ft within 3 chances.

Candidates shall enclose one additional passport size photograph beside two photographs pasted on application and admit card.
Candidates must also enclose Two Self-Addressed envelopes with affixed postal stamp of Rs.39/- on each.

Examination Fee: Rs.50/-  in form of Demand Draft/ Postal Order drawn in favour of the addressee to whom the application is addressed, payable at respective SBI/ Post Office at the location or nearby station.
NO FEE FOR SC /ST CANDIDATES AND EX-SERVICEMAN.
