BUS (HEAVY VEHICLE) DRIVER
Number of Vacancies: 114 Nos. (Gen-44; SC-26; OBC-29; Ex-Servicemen-15)
Educational Qualification: Matric pass and should possess valid licence to drive heavy transport vehicle; and at least five years experience to drive heavy transport vehicles and has not been convicted for any offence indicating that he is not capable of performing efficiently the duties of the post.
The ex-servicemen candidates who possess Army Matriculation certificates shall also be eligible.
Age as on 01.01.2015: Minimum 25 yrs & Maximum 35 yrs, (relaxation for 5 yrs for SC and 3 yrs for OBC in upper age limit and for Ex-serviceman as per rules).
Pay Scale: Rs. 5910-20200 during the probation period. After successful completion of the probation period, the directly recruited bus driver will be entitled to receive the salary equivalent to the minimum of the pay scale i.e. Rs. 5910-20200 and Grade Pay Rs. 2400/- (initial start Rs. 9880/- plus usual allowances as per norms.)
Candidates’ Selection: All candidates will be called for written test (objective type multiple choices). The written test consist of three sections:-
(a) Knowledge of Motor Vehicle Act and Traffic Rules = 50 Marks
(b) Knowledge of Bus/ Vehicle repair/maintenance = 40 Marks
(c) Basic knowledge of first-Aid = 10 Marks
The candidates who qualify the above said test will be called for following Driving Skill test.
The list of candidates eligible to sit for Written Test will be available in the official website after the last date of submission of online application till 07.12.2015

Application Fee: Candidates must pay Rs.800/- for General/OBC and Rs. 400 for SC/Ex-Servicemen candidates. Processing fee will be deposited in any branch of Punjab National Bank against the challan generated from system while filling online application. as Application Fee. Fee can be paid through Bank only by means of Fee Payment Challan. Fee Challan can be downloaded from the official website of Chandigarh Transport Undertaking (CTU).
