Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) is going to conduct Civil Judge Junior Division and Judicial Magistrate First Class Preliminary Examination—2012 on 16th Sept-2012. Interested candidates, in the recruitment of 150 Posts in Civil Judge Jr. Division and Judicial Magistrate, may apply Online. Eligibility norms and other criteria in brief is given below—

MAHARASHTRA PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION — CIVIL JUDGE JUNIOR DIVISION AND JUDICIAL MAGISTRATE FIRST CLASS PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION – 2012. 150 POSTS. ADVT.NO. 274 /2012

1. Civil Judge Jr. Division and Judicial Magistrate
No. of posts: 150 Nos.

Qualification Required: —
For Fresher candidates: Degree in Law and must have secured minimum 55% of Marks. Candidates must have passed all the examination of the degree in Law in first attempt.
For Advocate, Attorney or Pleader: Degree in law and must have practiced as an Advocate, Attorney or Pleader in the High Court or Courts Subordinates thereto for not less than 3 years.
Service in Maharashtra as Public Prosecutor will be considered as practice at the Bar
N.B: Candidates must have ability to read, write and speak Marathi and to translate with facility from Marathi into English and vice-versa. Certificate/ document in support is to be provided by the candidates. Please see the Advt.

Age limits: between 21yrs to 25yrs for fresher and between 21yrs to 35yrs in case of Advocate, Attorney or Pleader. Upper age relaxation for reserved categories is as per norms laid by the commission. Backward Class will receive relaxation of 5yrs in age.

Pay Scale: Rs.27700—Rs.44770 plus other allowances.

Selection Steps: Candidates will be selected through — (i) Preliminary Examination, (ii) Main Examination and (iii) Viva-Voce
Preliminary Examination will be on following subjects — (1) Code of Criminal Procedure. (2) Civil Procedure Code. (3) Evidence Act. (4) Transfer of Property Act (5) Specific Relief Act. (6) Maharashtra Rent Control Act. (7) Limitation Act. (8) Constitution of India. (9) Indian Penal Code. (10) Law of Contracts, Sale of Goods Act and Partnership Act. Questions will be Objective type (Multiple choices) carrying 100 marks and will be set in English.

Qualified candidates from the Preliminary Examination will be called for Main Written Examination which will be of two hundred marks consisting two papers of 100 marks each. Medium of the examination will be Marathi and English. Qualified candidates will be finally called for Interview which will be of 50 marks. The admission certificate of the candidate will be made available in the profile of the candidate before 7 days of the scheduled examination. The candidate has to take printout of the same and submit it at the time of examination.

Application Fee: Candidates should pay Application fee of Rs.260/- (Rs.135 for Backward Classes only). Application fee can be paid by Prescribed Fee Challan through any branch of State Bank of India or can be also paid Online by Credit/ Debit Card, Net Banking or by Cash Card. Candidates willing to pay through SBI Fee challan should download/print-out the fee receipt from the commission’s website mentioned above.

Last Date of Online Application: 14th August 2012 till midnight.
Last Date of Fee submission (Offline): 16th August 2012.
