Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) is going to conduct the Preliminary Examination of the Combined Competitive Examination—2013 for screening candidates for the Main Examination for recruitment of 309 posts/ services in various departments of Assam. Eligible candidates may apply online. Advt. No. 21PSC/E-2/2013-14. Qualification norms and details in brief is given below —
Total vacancies through the Combined Competitive Examination-2013: 309 Nos. (Male—241; Women—68)
Distribution of vacancies as per Services wise —
— Assam Civil Service (Jr. Grade): 117 Nos.
— Assam Police Service (Jr. Grade): 79 Nos.
— Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies: 8 Nos.
— Superintendent of Taxes: 14 Nos.
— Inspector of Taxes: 16 Nos.
— Labour Officer: 3 Nos.
— Asst. Employment Officer: 34 Nos.
— Labour Inspector: 14 Nos.
— Inspector of Excise: 21 Nos.
— District Transport Officer: 3 Nos.
Educational Qualification: Degree in any discipline.
Age Limit: minimum 21yrs and maximum 38yrs as on 01-01-2013. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST – 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; PWD- 10yrs; Others – As per norms.
The Assam Public Service Commission will hold the Preliminary Examination of the Combined Competitive Examination 2013 for screening candidates for the Main Examination for recruitment to the above-mentioned services/posts
The preliminary examination will be held at different centres in the State (see the Advt.) whereas main examination will be held in Guwahati only.
Exact date of Main Examination will be notified in due course
Examination Fee (For Preliminary Examination only): Rs.50/- for General/OBC and other candidates AND Rs.25/- for SC/ST candidates.
The fee is to be deposited through e-Challan with State Bank of India. Fee challan is to be print-out from the commission’s website.

Candidates will require to upload their photo and signature during the application process.
On successfully uploading their photo and signature, the candidate should ‘Submit’ the Application Form.
After submission of the application form, the candidate should save and take printout of the system generated (a) Bank e-challan, (b) Registration Slip and (c) Application Form.
All these print-outs must be retained safely for future use. There is no need to send any hard copy to the commission.
