Public Service Commission of West Bengal is inviting application from professionals/ faculty for the posts of – Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor and District Inspector/ Additional District Inspector of Schools. Advertisement No. 5/2013. The engagement to the posts are on temporary basis but likely to be permanent. Qualification norms and brief details is given below —
1. POSTS IN THE GOVERNMENT ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGICAL COLLEGES UNDER THE HIGHER EDUCATION DEPARTMENT, GOVERNMENT OF WEST BENGAL IN THE WEST BENGAL GENERAL SERVICE.
(I) Professor of Electronics & Communication Engineering: 2 Nos. (Gen—1; SC—1)
Qualification: B.E./B.Tech. and M.E./M.Tech. in relevant branch with 1st class or equivalent either in B.E./B.Tech. or M.E./M.Tech. and Ph.D. or equivalent in appropriate discipline.
Experience: Minimum 10 years teaching/research/industrial experience of which at least 5 years should be at the level of Associate Professor OR Minimum of 13 years experience in teaching and / or research and / or industry.
Age: Not more than 50 years as on 01.01.2013.
(II) Associate Professor of Electronics & Communication Engineering: 4 Nos. (Gen—2; SC—1; OBC-A—1)
Qualification: B.E./B.Tech. and M.E./M.Tech. in relevant branch with 1st class or equivalent either in B.E./B.Tech. or M.E./M.Tech. and Ph.D. or equivalent in appropriate discipline.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in teaching/research/industry of which 2 years post Ph.D. experience is desirable
Age: Not more than 40 years as on 01.01.2013.
(III) Assistant Professor of Electronics & Communication Engineering: 6 Nos. (Gen—2; SC—1; OBC-A—1; OBC-B—1; PH—1)
Qualification: B.E./B.Tech. and M.E./M.Tech. in relevant branch with 1st class or equivalent either in B.E./B.Tech. or M.E./M.Tech.
Age: Not more than 35 years as on 01.01.2013.
2. POST IN THE WEST BENGAL EDUCATIONAL SERVICE UNDER THE SCHOOL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT, GOVERNMENT OF WEST BENGAL
(I) District Inspector/ Additional District Inspector of Schools: 3 Nos. (Gen—1; OBC—2)
Qualification: Second class Master’s Degree of a recognized university in India or equivalent qualifications and Degree in teaching of an Indian university or equivalent qualifications. Knowledge of Bengali language in written and spoken is essential.
Experience: 3 years experience of inspection work or in teaching in school.
Age: Not more than 35yrs as on 01-01-2013.
Application Fee (For all posts): Rs.210/- in form of crossed Indian Postal Order drawn in favour of – Secretary, Public Service Commission, West Bengal and payable at – GPO, Kolkata.
Fee can be also paid by a receipted Challan from a Govt. Treasury in West Bengal or the Reserve Bank of India, Kolkata under the head “0051-00-105-State PSC Examination fees-001-Examination fees-16 other fees”.
SC/ST and PH candidates of West Bengal are exempted from Application Fee.
