Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Haldia Refinery, West Bengal is inviting application from the eligible candidates for 70 posts of Apprentices in the following trades/disciplines – Boiler, Fitter, Attendant Operator, Technician (Chemical/ Mechanical/ Electrical/ Instrumentation). IOCL – HALDIA REFINERY IS INVITING APPLICATION FOR 70 POSTS OF APPRENTICES IN THE FOLLOWING TRADES/DISCIPLINES – BOILER, FITTER, ATTENDANT OPERATOR, TECHNICIAN (CHEMICAL/ MECHANICAL/ ELECTRICAL/ INSTRUMENTATION). LAST DATE — 20/05/2016.

 

1. Trade Apprentice (Boiler) Discipline-Mechanical: 10 Nos. (UR-5; SC-2; ST-1; OBC-2)
Educational Qualification: 3 yrs. Full time B.Sc.(Phy,Maths,Chem,/Ind Chem) with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST and PwD candidates against reserved positions) in aggregate.
Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum 24 years as on 31/03/2016
Consolidated Pay: Rs.6490/- and Rs.6700/- per month in first and second year respectively.

 

2. Trade Apprentice (Fitter) Discipline- Mechanical: 05 Nos. (UR-3; SC-1; ST-0; OBC-1)
Educational Qualification: Matriculation with 02 yers ITI (Fitter) course with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST and PwD candidates against reserved positions) in aggregate.
Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum 24 years as on 31/03/2016
Consolidated Pay: Rs.6970/- per month during one year of training.

 

3. Trade Apprentice/ Attendant Operator (Chemical Plant) Discipline- Chemical AND
4. Technician Apprentice Discipline-Chemical
Total vacancies — 39 posts (UR-20; SC-09; ST-01; OBC-09)
Educational Qualification:
(i) For Trade Appr/ Attendant Opr (Chemical): 3 yrs. Full time B.Sc.(Phy, Maths, Chem,/ Ind Chem) with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST and PwD candidates against reserved positions) in aggregate. Consolidated Pay: Rs.6970/- and Rs.7220/- per month during first year and second year of training period respectively.
(ii) For Tech Apprentices (Chemical): 3 yrs. Full time Diploma in Chemical Engg./Refinery & petrochemicals Engg. with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST and PwD candidates against reserved positions) in aggregate. Consolidated Pay: Rs.9659/- per month during one year of training period.
Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum 24 years as on 31/03/2016

 

5. Technician Apprentice Discipline-Mechanical: 12 Nos. (UR-6; SC-3; ST-1; OBC-2)
Educational Qualification: 3 yrs. Full time Diploma in Mechanical Engg. with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST and PwD candidates against reserved positions) in aggregate.
Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum 24 years as on 31/03/2016
Consolidated Pay: Rs.9659/- per month during one year of training period.

 

6. Technician Apprentice Discipline-Electrical: 02 Nos. (UR-1; SC-1)
Educational Qualification: 3 yrs. Full time Diploma in Electrical Engg. with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST and PwD candidates against reserved positions) in aggregate.
Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum 24 years as on 31/03/2016
Consolidated Pay: Rs.9659/- per month during one year of training period.

 

7. Technician Apprentice Discipline- Instrumentation: 02 Nos. (UR-1; OBC-1)
Educational Qualification: 3 yrs. Full time Diploma in Instrumentation Engg. or equivalent with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST and PwD candidates against reserved positions) in aggregate.
Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum 24 years as on 31/03/2016
Consolidated Pay: Rs.9659/- per month during one year of training period.

 

Upper Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST and 03 years for OBC category.

 

The candidates should not have undergone Apprenticeship earlier or pursuing Apprenticeship Training and should not have training/Job experience for a period of one year or more. Such candidates are not eligible to apply.

Period of Apprenticeship Training: 12 months to 36 months: As indicated above against respective Disciplines.
After successful completion of Apprenticeship period, candidates may be considered for appointment/ given due preference against vacancies in a regular post in respective disciplines, in terms of applicable

Candidates’ Selection: Selections for engagement of Apprentices would be based on written test and personal interview. The
written Test will be of two hours duration & would carry a weightage of 85%. The maximum weightage for interview will be 15%.
