INDIA AIR FORCE INVITES APPLICATIONS FROM UNMARRIED MALE CANDIDATES FOR SELECTION TEST IN APRIL – MAY 2016 TO JOIN AS AIRMEN IN GROUP ‘X’ (TECHNICAL) OR GROUP ‘Y’ (NON-TECHNICAL) {EXCEPT AUTOMOBILE TECHNICIAN, GROUND TRAINING INSTRUCTOR, INDIAN AIR FORCE (POLICE), INDIAN AIR FORCE (SECURITY) AND MUSICIAN} OR FOR BOTH GROUPS ‘X’&’Y’ (TECHNICAL/NON-TECHNICAL) TRADES. LAST DATE – 28.11.2015

 

GROUP ‘X’ (TECHNICAL)
Qualification: Passed Intermediate/10+2/Equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics and English with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
OR
Passed Three years Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile / Computer Science / Instrumentation Technology / Information Technology) from a Government recognized Polytechnic Institute with 50% marks in overall aggregate and 50% marks in English in Diploma or in Intermediate/Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Diploma Course.

 

GROUP ‘Y’ (NON TECHNICAL)
Qualification: Passed Intermediate / 10+2 / Equivalent Examination in any stream/subjects approved by Central / State Education Boards with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
OR
Passed Two years Vocational Course recognized by Association of Indian Universities (CBSE / Board of Vocational Higher Secondary Education Kerala) with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in Vocational Course or in Intermediate/Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Vocational Course.

 

GROUP ‘X’ & ‘Y’ (ELIGIBLE FOR BOTH TECHNICAL AND NON-TECHNICAL)
Qualification: Passed Intermediate/10+2/ Equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics and English with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. (Candidates will take the examination for Group ‘X’ and Group ‘Y’ subjects in one sitting and can qualify for Group ‘X’ and Group ‘Y’ or both i.e. if candidate passes in English and Reasoning and General Awareness (RAGA) then he will be considered pass in Group ‘Y’ and if he passes in English, Physics and Maths, he is considered pass in Group ‘X’). If a candidate clears in all the four subjects, he will be considered pass in Group ‘X’ and Group ‘Y’. Diploma holders are eligible to appear only for Group ‘X’.

 

Physical Standards for both Group ‘X’ (Technical) Trades and Group ‘Y’ (Non-Technical)
Trades are as follows: –
(i) Height: Minimum acceptable height is 152.5 cms.
(ii) Chest: Minimum range of expansion: 5 cms
(iii) Weight: Proportionate to height and age.

Pay & Allowances: During training, a stipend of Rs. 11,400/- per month will be paid. Upon successful completion of training, candidates will be absorbed in regular pay scale as per norms.
(a) Group ‘X’ (Technical) Trades. Rs. 24,900/- per month (approximately) which, in subsequent years, may rise up to Rs. 43,940/- per month (approximately).
(b) Group ‘Y’ (Non-Technical) Trades. Rs. 20,500/- per month (approximately) which, in subsequent years, may rise up to Rs. 38,720/- per month (approximately).

Age Limit (For all above posts/discipline): Born between 01 AUGUST 1996 and 30 NOVEMBER 1999 (both days inclusive).

 

Candidates’ Selection: Selection of the candidates will be through Written Test, Adaptability Test, Physical Fitness Test and Interview.

Written Test will be objective type and question paper will be bilingual (English & Hindi) except for English paper. Written test for candidates opting for both Groups ‘X’ & ‘Y’ shall be conducted in one sitting, using the same OMR sheet.

Physical Fitness Test consists of a 1.6 Km run to be completed within 8 minutes. Candidates will also have to complete 20 squats followed by 10 push-ups and 10 sit-ups within the stipulated time to qualify in the Physical Fitness Test.

Examination Centre will be at – AMBALA, NEW DELHI, KANPUR, BARRACKPORE (KOLKATA), JODHPUR, MUMBAI, BENGALURU, CHENNAI, BHUBANESWAR, BIHTA (PATNA), GUWAHATI, SECUNDERABAD, KOCHI AND BHOPAL.

Exact Date, Time and Venue for examination/interview will be intimated to the eligible candidates in due course as well as such information will be also available in the official website of Indian Air Force

How to Apply: Interested and eligible candidates may apply online only through the official website of Indian Air Force — www.airmenselection.gov.in (See link to Application form given below) till dated 28/11/2015

After successful registration, the duly filled color printout of online application along with all required attachments (as applicable) is required to be sent to Central Airmen Selection Board (CASB) by ordinary post only, so as to reach CASB latest by 05 DECEMBER 2015 in sealed white envelope.

Do not submit more than one application.
