Indian Army is inviting application from the eligible candidates for 72 posts of Junior Commissioned Officers (Religious Teacher) for RRT 85 & 86 courses. Interested and eligible candidates may apply Online only through the official website of the Indian Army (See URL below). Only male candidates are eligible to apply. Educational qualification required and other details, in brief, for informational purpose only in interest of job-seeker, are given below —

 

INDIAN ARMY INVITES ONLINE APPLICATION FOR 72 POSTS OF JUNIOR COMMISSIONED OFFICERS FOR RRT 85 & 86 COURSES. LAST DATE — 08/11/2017

 

1. JUNIOR COMMISSIONED OFFICER (RELIGIOUS TEACHER)

No. of Vacancies: 72 Nos.

 

Category wise vacancies:

i) Pandit: 63 posts
ii) Granthi: 02 posts
iii) Padre: 01 post
iv) Pandit (Gorkha) for Gorkha Regiment: 03 posts
v) Maulvi (Shia) for Ladakh Scouts: 01 post
vi) Bodh Monk (Mahayana) for Ladakh Scouts: 01 post

 

Educational Qualification: Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university.
Candidates must also possess following qualification according to the religious denomination of the individual:-
(i) Pandit: Hindu candidates with Madhyama in Sanskrit or Bhushan in Hindi or equivalent standard in the regional language concerned.
OR Those who have passed BA with Sanskrit / Hindi as one of the elective (Main)
subjects but have not done Madhyama in Sanskrit or Bhushan in Hindi.

(ii) Granthi: Sikh candidates with Vidwan in Punjabi or equivalent standard in the regional language concerned.
OR Those who have passed BA with Punjabi as one of the elective (main) subjects but have not done Vidwan in Punjabi.

(iii) Pandit (Gorkha) for Gorkha Regiment: Hindu (Gorkha) candidates with Madhyama in Sanskrit or Bhushan in Hindi or equivalent standard in the Nepali Language.
OR Those who have passed BA with Sanskrit / Hindi as one of the elective (Main) subjects but have not done Madhyama in Sanskrit or Bhushan in Hindi.

(iv) Padre: Christian candidates who have been ordained priesthood by the appropriate ecclesiastical authority and is still on the approved list of the local Bishop.

(v) Maulvi: Muslim candidates with Maulvi Alim in Arabic, Adib Alim in Urdu or equivalent standard in the regional language concerned.
OR Those who have passed BA with Arabic/Urdu as one of the elective (Main)
subject but who have not done Maulvi Alim in Arabic/Adib Alim in Urdu.

(vi) Maulvi (Shia) for Ladakh Scouts: Muslim Shia Ladakh candidates with Maulvi Alim in Arabic, Adib Alim in Urdu or equivalent standard in the regional language concerned.
OR Those who have passed BA with Arabic/Urdu as one of the elective (Main)
subject but who have not done Maulvi Alim in Arabic/Adib Alim in Urdu.

(vii) Bodh Monk (Mahayana). Buddhist (Mahayana): candidates who have been ordained Monk/Buddhist Priest, by the Appropriate Authority. The term Appropriate Authority will mean Head Priest of the Monastery where the person has been initiated into priesthood. The head priest should be in possession of Geshe (PhD) of Khanpa or Lopon or Rabjam with proper certificate from Monastery.

 

Age Limit: Minimum-24 years and maximum-34 years as on 01/10/2018.

 

Pay Scale: Rs 35,400 – Rs.1,12,400

 

Physical Standards (For all above posts):
(i) Male Candidates: Height — 160 cm; Chest (unexpanded) — 77 cm (expanded) – 82 cm; Weight — 50 kg

Cut-off in Physical Standards: For candidates belonging to certain categories/ communities or of certain States/Areas; the cut-off in such candidate’s Height/ Chest’s measurement will be as per Govt. norms. Please see officially released advertisement for more details.

 

Candidates’ Selection: Selection of the candidates will be through Written Examination and Interview.
Written Examination which will be conducted on 25/02/2018.

Note: Selected candidates will undergo six weeks training at BEG and Centre, Kirkee followed by eleven week training at Institute of National Integration (INI), Pune.

Exact Date, Time and Venue for examination/interview will be intimated to the eligible candidates in due course as well as such information will be also available in the official website of Indian Army — www.joinindianarmy.nic.in

How to Apply: Applicant willing to apply for the post of Pandit, Granthi, Padri and Moulvi categories must apply online only whereas applicant willing to apply for Pandit (Gorkha), Maulvi (Shia) and Buddhist (Mahanaya) other than Sikkim Region must apply on prescribed format (written application) only.

 

Online registration for selected posts can be filled through the official website of Indian Army only — www.joinindianarmy.nic.in (See Application form’s link given below) from dated 10/10/2017 to 08/11/2017

Candidates apply offline (written application) for selected posts must submit their application by 08/11/2017 (by post) at the respective Recruiting Zones/ Concerned Regimental Centres of Indian Army (See pdf file/official advt. for list of addresses as per zones)
