Data Entry Operator and Lower Division Clerk by Staff Selection Commission (SSC). Last Dt. 10/08/2012 (17/08/2012)

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is going to hold a Combined All India Open Examination for recruitment to the posts of – Data Entry Operator and Lower Division Clerk (LDC) for various departments. Higher Secondary pass (Class-12) candidates may apply for the examination. Application can be made Online and Offline. Selection will be through Written Examination and Skill Test. Eligibility norms in brief is given below—

STAFF SELECTION COMMISSION – COMBINED HIGHER SECONDARY LEVEL (10+2) EXAMINATION, 2012 FOR DATA ENTRY OPERATOR AND LOWER DIVISION CLERK.

Qualification Required: Higher Secondary (Class-12) pass or equivalent from recognised board or University.
Candidates will have to go through Skill Test/ Typing Test, as applicable. Look below for types of Skill Test/ Typing Test.

Age Limit: Candidates must be between 18yrs to 27yrs as on 01/08/2012. Age relaxation and seats reservation is as per govt. norms.

Application Fee: Rs.100/-
In case of Online registration — Application fee of Rs.100 is to be paid through any branch of State Bank of India in form of Fee Challan or through SBI Net Banking
In case of Offline application — Fee should be paid in form of Central Recruitment Fee Stamps (CRFS) available at the departmental post offices. Fee stamp should be pasted on application form and then get it cancelled from the clerk of the issuing post office.
SC/ST and Ex-Serviceman do not required to pay Application fee.

Candidate’s Selection: Selection will be made through Written Examination and Skill test for the post of Data Entry Operator and Typing Test for the post of Lower Division Clerk on Computer.
The written test will consist of one Objective Type– Multiple choice questions
paper on following subject — (i) General Intelligence (50 questions), (ii) English Language (Basic Knowledge- 50 questions), (iii) Quantitative Aptitude (Basic Arithmetic Skill- 50 questions) and (iv) General Awareness (50 questions)
Negative marking will be there for wrong answers.

Skill Test for Data Entry Operator: The ‘Speed of 8000 key depressions per hour on Computer’ will be adjudged on the basis of the correct entry of words key depressions as per the given passage and the duration of the said Test will be 15 (Fifteen) minutes and printed matter in English containing about 2000-2200 strokes/key-depressions would be given to each candidate who would enter the same in the Computer.

Typing Test for Lower Division Clerk: Typing Test will be conducted for those candidates who qualify in the Written Examination. Such Typing Test will be conducted in English or Hindi as opted by applicant in application form.

Centre of Examination: Written Examination will be hold at respective centres in the States of – U.P., West Bengal, Karnataka, New Delhi, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Mumbai, Chattisgarh and Chandigarh.
The Written Examination will hold on 21/10/2012 and 28/10/2012 (Sundays – from 10 AM to 12 Noon). Total duration of examination will be 2hrs.

Candidates should address their application (if applied Offline) to the Regional/ Sub-Regional offices of the Commission. Please refer the Advt. for addresses and details.

How to Apply: Application can be made Online as well as Offline. For Online application; candidates should visit the official website of SSC — http://ssc.nic.in.
Application form for candidates opting to apply Offline can be downloaded from the above site.

For fast processing and certainty, it is advisable to apply Online. Online application is to be made in two parts, – Part-I and Part-II. Candidates should first do Part-I registration and then Part-II registration. General and OBC candidates will have to deposit application fee after making part-I registration and before going for Part-II registration.
After final submission of Part-II registration form; a system generated application (Acknowledgement) with unique Registration No. will appear on the screen. Candidates should print-out it for further use.


N.B: Candidates, who make Online Application, do not need to send any documents/ application form at the office address of SSC.

Last Dates –
For Online Application: Part-I registration can be made from dated 14th July to 8th August 2012 (5 PM) and Part-II registration can be made upto 10th August 2012 (5 PM)
For Offline Application: Application form should reach at the address of respective Regional/ Sub-Regional Offices within 10th August 2012 (17th August 2012 in case of Candidates applying from far flung areas).

    • you can read “pesha probesh”, “porikha prostuti”, “sopan” etc. all are bengali potrika & also read the “karmasandhan paper”. And for current affairs you can follow the “saffolo”. All books and magazines price is between rs.10 to rs.20. And there is many other books. Just go to any bookstall and find those.

    • Hmmm… I am also wondering how many post, but it is not yet officially disclosed. So I think I should apply for it without knowing the exact numbers of post.
