Municipal Service Commission (MSC West Bengal) is inviting application in prescribed application format for the post of “JUNIOR ASSISTANT” in the Kolkata Municipal Corporation & Municipal Service Commission. Total vacancies—154 Nos. Advertisement No. 6 of 2013. Interested candidates may apply on prescribed format only (see below). No. of vacancies and qualification norms are given below —

RECRUITMENT OF 154 JUNIOR ASSISTANT IN KOLKATA MUNICIPAL CORPORATION & MUNICIPAL SERVICE COMMISSION. LAST DATE – 28/01/2014.

Name of the Post: JUNIOR ASSISTANT
Two panels— one main panel against clear vacancies and one supplementary panel against subsequent vacancies will be prepared in order of merit on the result of the Recruitment Examination. The panels will remain valid for one year only from the date of its publication. Only main panel will be prepared for recruitment under Municipal Service Commission.

Tentative Number of Vacancies —
Main Panel: Total — 100 Nos. (UR-52, UR (PH)-03, SC-22, ST-06, OBC(A)-06, OBC(B)-07) for Kolkata Municipal Corporation.
Main Panel: 04 (UR-2, ST-01, OBC(A)-01) for Municipal Service Commission.
Supplementary Panel : 50 (UR-26, UR(PH)-01, SC-11, ST-03, OBC(A)-05, OBC(B)-04) for Kolkata Municipal Corporation. 

Educational Qualification: Higher Secondary pass or its equivalent.
Working knowledge in computer is desirable.

Pay Band: Rs.5400—25200 and Grade Pay: Rs.2600/-

Age: Minimum 18yrs and maximum 40yrs as on 01/01/2013. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST – 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; PWD- 10yrs; and Others – As per norms.

Candidates’ Selection: The recruitment examination will be held in two stages viz., (i) OMR based written examination consisting of multiple choice, objective type 100 questions of — General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Science, Mathematics, reasoning etc. carrying two marks each.
There will be negative marking for wrong answer.  Questions will be set in English and time allowed will be 2½ (two and half) hours
(ii) Personality Test/ Interview
Final merit list will be prepared on the basis of the total marks obtained in the written examination & Personality Test / Interview. See the below given Advt. for details.
Admit Cards for the examination will be sent to the eligible candidates in due course.

Application Fee: Candidates willing to apply for the vacancies must pay Application Fee of Rs.150/– and processing charge of Rs.50/-, i.e. Total – Rs.200/-
Candidates shall bear the bank’s service charges of Rs.20/- additionally.
The fee shall be collected through all branches of United Bank of India and deposited to A/C No.0088050006323 vide challan specially designed and available at Commission’s website www.mscwb.org. (See the PDF file given below for fee challan)

NO APPLICATION FEE FOR SC/ST AND PH CANDIDATES, THEY SHALL PAY PROCESSING FEE OF RS.50/- ONLY.

How to Apply: Interested and eligible candidates may apply on prescribed application format only (See the below given PDF file) along with Self-attested photocopies of the documents/certificates in support of age, caste, qualification, and experience (if any) etc., whichever applicable. One part of the challan meant for the Application Fee should also be enclosed with the application.

The duly filled Application form along with enclosures can be dropped in the Drop-Box kept at Commission’s Office or can be sent by ORDINARY POST at the following address — The Secretary, Municipal Service Commission, 149, A.J.C.Bose Road, Kolkata-700 014

The envelope containing the application must bear the category of the candidate e.g. General/ SC/ ST/ OBC (A)/OBC(B)/ PH etc.

Last Date of Application: The duly filled Application form must reach the above address on or before 28th January , 2014 (4PM)

  25. There are lots of job in West Bengal but I am not getting any one. Ato chakri kintu ami ektau pacchi na. Ebar last try korbo naile golai dori debo.
