Northern Railway, New Delhi, is recruiting 5679 candidates for the posts of – Pointsman, Gateman, Khalasi, Trackman, Carriage Cleaner, Khalasi, Safaiwala, Cook Mate, Hospital Attendant, Helper and Etc in Pay Band-1 Rs.5200-20200 with Grade Pay of Rs.1800/- for various Divisions/ Workshop/ Units. Employment Notice No: 220-E/Open Mkt./RRC/2013. Educational norms and eligibility criteria in brief is given below.

The engagement to the above said posts will be in the following Divisions/ Workshop/ Units —
(I) Divisions — Delhi, Moradabad, Lucknow, Ambala & Firozpur
(II) Workshops /Factory — Jagadhari, Ghaziabad, Kapurthala, Rae Bareli, Jalandhar
(III) Units — (i) Alambagh Store Lucknow, Store Depot Shakurbasti, New Delhi (ii) Bridge Office, New Delhi and Lucknow (iii) Northern Railway Central Hospital, New Delhi.

Educational Qualification: Matriculation (Class 10) pass OR ITI or equivalent OR NAC (National Apprenticeship Certificate).
Candidates awaiting result are not eligible to apply.

Age Limit: Between 18yrs to 33yrs as on 01/01/2014 (i.e. born between 02.01.1981 to 01.01.1996 both days inclusive)
Upper age relaxation for SC/ST – 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; PWD- 10yrs; Ex-Serviceman and Others – As per norms.

Pay Scale: Rs.5200-20200 with Grade Pay of Rs.1800/-

Application Fee: Rs.100/- is to be paid either through Fee Payment Challan (bank transaction through Central Bank of India/ through NEFT from any other bank)  OR in form of Indian Postal Order drawn in favour of Assistant Personnel Officer, Railway Recruitment Cell, Lajpat Nagar – I, New Delhi – 110024.
NO APPLICATION FEE FOR SC/ ST/ PWD/ WOMEN CANDIDATES/ MINORITIES AND ECONOMICALLY BACKWARD CLASSES.

Candidates’ Selection: Candidates will be selected on basis of Written Examination followed by Physical Efficiency Test (PET).
Written Examination: Written Examination will consists of 100 objective type multiple choice question paper based on 10th class standard to assess the General Knowledge, Awareness, Mathematics, Reasoning etc. There will be negative marking for marking wrong answers.

Only those candidates who qualify in the Written Examination will be called for Physical Efficiency Test (PET). The persons with disabilities are Exempted from appearing in PET.—
For Male Candidates: Run of 1000 metres to be completed in 4 minutes 15 seconds in one chance.
For Female Candidates: Run of 400 mtrs in 3 minute 10 seconds in one chance.
Admit card indicating date, time and venue will be sent to all the eligible candidates.
