Odisha Sub-Ordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC) is inviting application for 256 posts of Excise Constable for different district and E.I & E.B. Units under the Excise Department of Govt. ODISHA SUB-ORDINATE SSC INVITES APPLICATION FOR 256 POSTS OF EXCISE CONSTABLE IN EXCISE DEPARTMENT. LAST DATE – 31/10/2014.
Name of the Post: Excise Constable.
No. of Vacancies: 256 Nos. (SC-33; ST-70; SEBC-16 & Gen-137)
Educational Qualification: – 12th/H.S passed. Candidates should have studied language Oriya as a subject at least at 10th/ Matric standard.
Remuneration: Rs.5200/- and Grade Pay Rs.1800/- per month.
Note: The engagement to the above posts will be initially on contractual basis for a period of one year and after completion of contractual period/training candidates may be placed in regular basis and its Pay Band Rs.5200/- to Rs.20200/- per month and Grade Pay Rs.1800/- per month.
Age limit: 21 to 32 yrs as on 01.01.2014. The upper age relaxation for reserved category will be as per Govt. norms.
Mode of Selection: Selection of the candidates will be through Physical Standard Measurement, Physical Efficiency Test, Educational Achievement and Written Test.
Date, Time and Interview for examination will be informed in Admission letters, in due course.
Admission letter for Written Examination will made available in the official website of OSSSC in due course. Candidates may download such letter by using their password and User ID.
The written test paper’s question will consist of Mathematics and General Knowledge and shall be of objective multiple choice type in OMR system.
The written test will be conducted on the same date and time all over the State.
Physical Standard:
For Male candidates: (i) Height-168cm (ii) Weight-55kg (iii) Chest (unexpanded)-79cm (expanded)-84cm.
For Female candidates: (i) Height-158cm (ii) Weight-47.5kg, (iii) Chest – Not Applicable.
Note: The cut-off in Physical measurement for reserved categories will be as per govt. Norms.
Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
For Men: (i) Run 1.6km within 6.30mins (ii) High Jump 1.22 meters (3 chances given) (iii) Broad Jump 3.66 meters (3 chances given) (iv) Rope Climbing height of 6 meters (3 chances given) (v) Swimming 40 meters within 8 minutes.
For Women: (i) Run 1.6km within 8.30mins and 200 meters within 36 seconds (ii) Broad Jump 2.75 meters (3 chances given) (iii) Cycling-1.6 km within 6 minutes (iv) Swimming 40 meters within 10 minutes.
Application Fee: Rs.100/- can be paid through Net Banking or Debit/Credit Card during submission of online application form.
Fee can be also paid by depositing the prescribed amount through any Government Treasuries by using prescribed Treasury Challan and correctly mentioning Head of Account “0051-P.S.C.-104-UPSC/SSC Examination -0047-Fees Collected for Conducting Examination by OSSSC-02213.”
