Public Service Commission, West Bengal (PSCWB) is inviting application in the prescribed format for the post of 185 Nos. “Assistant Engineer (Civil)” in Engineering Departments under the below given services on temporary basis. Advertisement No. 13/2013. Selection of the candidates will be through Written Examination and will be carried by PSC WB. Educational qualification norms and eligibility criteria in brief is given below —
ASSISTANT ENGINEER (CIVIL)
Number of Vacancies: 185 Nos. [Unreserved – 45, SC – 63, ST – 40, BC(Category-A) – 24, BC(Category-B) – 02 and PH – 11 (VH–04, OH – 04 & HI–03)]
The engagement will be on temporary basis in Engineering Department of the following services —
(A) WEST BENGAL SERVICE OF ENGINEERS UNDER PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT.
(B) WEST BENGAL SERVICE OF ENGINEERS (IRRIGATION) UNDER IRRIGATION AND WATERWAYS DEPARTMENT.
(C) WEST BENGAL PUBLIC HEALTH ENGINEERING SERVICE (CIVIL) UNDER PUBLIC HEALTH ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT.
(D) WEST BENGAL SERVICE OF ENGINEERS (MUNICIPAL ENGINEERING) UNDER MUNICIPAL AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT.
(E) WEST BENGAL SERVICE OF ENGINEERS (CIVIL) UNDER PANCHAYAT AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT.
Educational Qualification: Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
Candidates must be able to read, write and speak in Bengali (Not required in the case of Nepali speaking candidates from the Hill areas of the District of Darjeeling).
Desirable — One year’s Post-Graduate practical training or study or research or practical engineering experience is desirable.
Age Limit: Maximum 32yrs as on 01-01-2013 (i.e. born not earlier than the 2nd January, 1981). Upper age relaxation for SC/ST – 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; PWD- 10yrs; Ex-Serviceman and Others – As per norms.
Pay Scale: Rs.15600— Rs.42000 and Grade Pay: Rs.5400/-
Gross emoluments at the entry level— Rs.21,000/- besides D.A., M.A. and H.R.A. admissible as per rules.
Candidates’ Selection: The candidates will be selected through the competitive examination comprising Written Examination (Multiple choice objective type) followed by Interview.
The Written Examination will be held in Kolkata only in April, 2014 or thereabout.
Interview of candidates to be selected on the basis of the Written Examination, will be held in Commission’s office in Kolkata.
Final merit list will be prepared on the basis of total marks obtained by the candidates in the written examination and interview.
Application Fee: Candidates willing to apply for the vacancies must pay Application Fee of Rs.210/- in form of Crossed Indian Postal Order drawn in favour of — The Secretary, Public Service Commission, West Bengal or by a receipted challan from a Govt. Treasury in West Bengal or the Reserve Bank of India, Kolkata under the head “0051-00-105-State PSC Examination fees-001-Examination fees-16 other fees”. The Postal Orders should be made payable at G.P.O., Kolkata.
NO APPLICATION FEE FOR SC/ST AND PWD CANDIDATES.
How to Apply: Interested and eligible candidates may apply prescribed application format only along with self-attested or Gazetted Officer attested documents in support of Educational proof, Age proof, Caste proof (if SC/ST/OBC), and Etc.
Two passport size photograph (one copy signed and pasted on the Application form and other copy as enclosed with it) is to be provided with Application form.
Candidates shall also enclose two (02) Self-Address unstamped envelopes along with Application form.
The envelope containing application must be superscribed with “ADVERTISEMENT NO.13/2013, ASSISTANT ENGINEER (CIVIL) RECRUITMENT EXAMINATION, 2013”.
Do not submit more than one Application form.
