Public Service Commission, West Bengal (PSC WB) is inviting application for the recruitment of 26 Nos. – Assistant Master (Bengali Medium/ English Medium/ Nepali Medium) and Assistant Mistress (Bengali Medium). Advertisement No. 15/2014. Special Recruitment Drive for S.C./S.T. candidates under School Education Department, Govt. of W.B. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:
For all above posts [except Sl.No.3 (b)]: Second Class Honours or Second Class Master’s Degree from a recognised University in appropriate subjects viz. Bengali, English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Geography, Nepali and Commerce as the case may be.
For post at Sl No. 3 (b): Second Class Honours or Second Class Master’s Degree from a recognised University in Zoology with Botany as a subsidiary subject in the Degree Course or A Second Class Honours or Second Class Master’s Degree of a recognised University in Botany with Zoology as a subsidiary subject in the degree course or A Second Class Honours or Second Class Master’s Degree of a recognised University in Physiology with Botany and Zoology as subsidiary subjects in the Degree Course.

 

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION:
Desirable : Degree in Teaching/Education or its equivalent (candidates not possessing this qualification may apply but if selected will draw the initial pay of time scale on an ad-hoc basis till obtaining the same.)

 

LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY:
Candidates applying for the Bengali Medium should have Spoken & Written knowledge in Bengali and candidates applying for English Medium should have Spoken & Written knowledge in English, Likewise candidates applying for Nepali Medium should have Spoken & Written knowledge in Nepali.

 

PAY SCALE (FOR ALL ABOVE POSTS):
(i) For candidates holding Master’s Degree: Rs.9,000 — Rs.40500 with Grade Pay: Rs.4,800/-
(ii) For candidates holding Honours Degree: Rs.9,000 — Rs.40,500 with Grade Pay: Rs.4,700/-
Besides pay, the posts carry allowances as admissible.

 

AGE LIMIT :
For all above posts: Not more than 32 years on 01.01.2014 (Relaxable upto 35 years for specially well qualified and experienced candidates and for persons holding substantive appointment in the Teaching branch of Education Department, West Bengal).
The benefits of reservation of vacancies and upper age concession upto 5 years are admissible only to S.C. and S.T. candidates of West Bengal. Such benefits are also available upto 45 years for Persons with Disabilities.

 

The engagement are on Regular basis and selected candidates will be posted in Govt. School in West Bengal and their services are transferable.
Selection of the candidates will be through Interview but if the number of candidates applying for vacancies is large then commission may decide to conduct a Preliminary Examination/ Screening Test. See PDF below for details.

For the posts of Assistant Master only eligible Male candidates may apply, women may not apply. Likewise, for the posts of Assistant Mistress only eligible Female candidates may apply, male are not eligible.

ONLY SC & ST CANDIDATES OF WEST BENGAL ARE ELIGIBLE TO APPLY. GENERAL AND OBC CANDIDATES ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR THE VACANCIES. ST/ST CANDIDATES OF OTHER STATES ARE ALSO NOT ELIGIBLE TO APPLY.

Upon successful submission of online application form, the system generated Registration Slip will appear on the computer screen. Candidates must print-out it in and shall retain the same safely for future correspondence. DO NOT SEND ANY PRINT-OUT TO THE COMMISSION AT THIS STAGE.
