Name of the Post: PRINCIPAL
Number of Vacancies: 11 posts (UR—6; SC—2; ST—1; OBC-A—1; OBC-B—1)
Educational Qualification: A Masters’ Degree of two years duration (regular) course, with Honours at Graduation level, having at least 55% marks in any school teaching subject and Diploma/Degree in Education/Primary Education with 55% marks from recognized University/Institute.
OR
M.Ed./M.Ed. (Elementary) with 55% marks or M.A. in Education with 55% marks and Diploma/Degree in Primary/Elementary Education with 55% marks from recognized University/Institute
AND
Five years experience of teaching in Primary or Elementary Teachers’ Training Institute as well as proper knowledge of computer operation/application.
Age Limit: Not more than 42 years as on 01.01.2014. Upper age relaxation is 5 years for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC (Non Creamy Layer) candidates and 03 years for PWD candidates.
Reservation of vacancies and age relaxation is applicable only to SC/ST/OBC candidates of West Bengal. SC/ST/OBC of other States may apply as unreserved categories.
The vacancies are on temporary basis but likely to be permanent. The vacancies are in Govt. Primary Teachers’ Training Institute in West Bengal under School Education Department.
Note: Candidates must have ability to read, write & speak in Bengali (Not applicable for Nepali speaking candidates from the hill areas of the district of Darjeeling)
Selection of the candidates will be through Screening Test/Written Test. Exact date and venue will be intimated in due course.

Application Fee: Rs.210/- in form of Indian Postal Order only crossed and endorsed to The Secretary, Public Service Commission, West Bengal, or by a receipted Challan from a Govt. Treasury in West Bengal or the Reserve Bank of India, Kolkata under the head “0051-00-105-State PSC Examination fees-001-Examination fees-16 other fees”.
The Postal Orders should be made payable at G.P.O., Kolkata.

How to Apply: Interested and eligible candidates may apply only on prescribed application format (See PDF below/URL of PSCWB) along with self-attested copies of testimonials in support of Qualification certificate, Age proof (madhyamik certificate), Caste certificate, Mark sheet and certificate of each examination passed, Experience certificate and any other relevant documents.
Two self-addressed unstamped envelopes and one self-addressed post card should be enclosed with the application.
