OPERATOR-CUM-TECHNICIAN (TRAINEE)
Number of Vacancies: 126 Nos. Out of total vacancies 18nos. reserved for Ex-Serviceman and 6nos for PWD candidates.

ATTENDANT-CUM-TECHNICIAN (TRAINEE)
Number of Vacancies: 106 Nos. Out of total vacancies 15nos is reserved for Ex-Serviceman and 5nos for PWD candidates.

— Fitter: 37 Nos. (Gen—18; SC—6; ST—9; OBC—4)

— Electronics: 10 Nos. (Gen—5; SC—17; ST—2; SC—2)
Education Qualification required : —
For Operator-cum-Technician (Trainee): Matriculation with 3 years full time Diploma in Engineering in the discipline of Metallurgy/ Chemical/ Mechanical/ Electrical/ Instrumentation/ Electronics from a Govt. recognized institute.
Age Limits: between 18yrs to 28yrs.
Pay Scale: Rs.9160—13150 (after completion of 2yrs training). For first two years candidates will be on consolidated pay of Rs.10700/-
For Attendant-cum-technician (Trainee): Matriculation with ITI (Full time) in the trades of Fitter / Electrician /Welder / Electronics from a Govt. recognized institute.
Age Limits: between 18yrs to 28yrs.
Pay Scale: Rs.8630—12080 (after completion of 2yrs training). For first two years candidates will be on consolidated pay of Rs.8600/-
Upper age relaxation: Age will be calculated as on 01- 03-2013. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST – 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; PWD- 10yrs; Ex-Serviceman and Others- As per norms.
Required Physical Standards of the candidates —
Height: 155cms (male); 143cms (Female)
Weight: 45 kgs (Male); 35 Kgs (Female)
Chest (Ex-panded/ un expanded): 75/79 cms (Male) and 73/70cms (Female).
Eye Sight: 5/12 with or without glass and must have normal colour vision.
Selection of the candidates will be through Written Test (in Hindi/ English). Candidates on basis their performance in the Written Test will be required to appear in the Interview.
Date, Time & Place of the Written Test and Interview will be intimated to eligible / shortlisted candidates through e-mail and will be also available at SAIL’s website — www.sail.co.in
Test Centres of the Written test will be at following cities —
Rourkela, Sambalpur, Bhubaneswar, Jamshedpur, Cuttack, Raipur and Kolkata.

Application fee: —
(1). Rs.250/- for the post of Operator-cum Technician (Trainee).
(2). Rs.150/- for the post of Attendant-cum-Technician (Trainee).
Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD/ESM category will be required to pay processing fee of Rs.50/- for the post of Operator-cum-Technician (Trainee) / Attendant-cum-Technician (Trainee).
In addition to the application / processing fee as above, candidates will be required to pay an amount of Rs.20/- additionally as Bank Charges.
Candidate has to take a printout of the bank challan available on the Application Registration Portal and approach a branch of SBI for depositing the fee in a specially opened Power Jyoti Account No. 31955226331 at SBI, RSP Campus Branch, Rourkela, on behalf of SAIL/RSP.
After applying online, candidate is required to download the system generated Registration Slip with unique registration number and other essential details and retain a copy of the same. There is no need to send the print-out application/ testimonials to anywhere. Verification will be done during Interview, if called.
