Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) is inviting application from the eligible candidates for 355 posts of Constable (General Duty) against Sports Quota vacancies for the year 2016-17 & 2017-18. CONSTABLE (GENERAL DUTY)

No. of Vacancies: 355 Nos.

 

List of eligible Sports/Games are as follows— Football, Athletics, Volleyball, Basketball, Handball, Kabaddi, Aquatics, Cross- Country, Judo, Hockey, Fencing, Water Sports, Wrestling, Boxing, Weight- lifting, Gymnastics, Wushu, Taekwondo, Archery, Sepaktakraw, Shooting (Sports), Equestrian and Cycling.

 

Educational Qualification: Matriculation or its equivalent from a recognized board.

 

Sports Qualification: Players who have participated in any International Sports events as a member of the Indian Squad for last 01 (One) year and players who have won medal(s) in any National Games/ Championships recognized by Indian Olympic Association, Sports Federation of (concerned sport) for last 01 (One) year i.e. in between 01.04.2016 to 31.03.2017.

 

Age Limit: Minimum-18 years and maximum-23 years as on closing date of receipt of application.

 

Basic Pay: Rs.21700/-

 

Upper Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST, 03 years for OBC and 10 years for PWD category. Ex-Serviceman & Others, if any — As per Govt. norms.

 

Physical Standards:

(i) Male Candidates: Height — 170 cm (162.5 cm for ST candidates); Chest (unexpanded) — 80 cm (76 cm for ST); Chest (expanded) — 85 cm (81 cm for ST); Weight — As per medical standard.

(ii) Female Candidates: Height — 157 cm (150 cm for ST candidates); Chest — Not applicable

Cut-off in Physical Standards: For candidates belonging to certain categories/ communities or of certain States/Areas; the cut-off in such candidate’s Height/ Chest’s measurement will be as per Govt. norms. Please see officially released advertisement for more details.

Candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and should possess high colour vision. They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties.

 

Candidates’ Selection: Selection of the candidates will be through Documentation, Physical Standard Test and Medical Examination.

Application Fee: Candidates must pay Rs.100/- as Application Fee. Fee can be paid through PO/Demand Draft/ Banker Cheque drawn in favour of Accounts Officer, FHQ, SSB, New Delhi, payable at State Bank of India, R.K. Puram, New Delhi (Branch Code-01076).

NO APPLICATION FEE REQUIRED IN CASE OF SC/ST & FEMALE CANDIDATES.
