SJVN Limited, A Joint Venture of Govt. of India & Govt. of Himachal Pradesh, is recruiting 131 “Executive Trainees” in discipline of – Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Finance, HR, Safety, Geology, Architecture and Company Secretarial. Selection of the candidates will be through All India Written Test. Interested candidates may apply online from the website of SJVL Ltd. Qualification norms and eligibility criteria, in brief, is as follows —
EXECUTIVE TRAINEES
Number of Vacancies: 131 Nos.
Break up of vacancies according to discipline wise and required educational qualification—
Civil: 40 Nos. (Gen—21; SC—7; ST—2; OBC—10)
Qualification: Full time Degree in Civil Engineering with 55% marks in aggregate (50% for SC/ST/PWD)
Mechanical: 25 Nos. (Gen—14; SC—5; ST—1; OBC—5)
Qualification: Full time Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 55% marks in aggregate (50% for SC/ST/PWD)
Electrical: 30 Nos. (Gen—17; SC—4; ST—3; OBC—6)
Qualification: Full time Degree in Electrical/ Electrical & Electronics Engineering with 55% marks in aggregate (50% for SC/ST/PWD)
Finance: 13 Nos. (Gen—7; SC—00; ST—1; OBC—5)
Qualification: CA/ ICWA/ Two years full time MBA/ PG Diploma with specialization in Finance.
HR: 11 Nos. (Gen—7; OBC—4)
Qualification: Graduate with two years full time MBA/ PG Diploma with specialization in Personnel/ HR with 55% marks in aggregate (50% for SC/ST/PWD)
Safety: 04 Nos. (Gen—3; OBC—1)
Qualification: Full time degree in Engineering (Civil/ Mechanical/ Electrical) with 55% marks in aggregate (50% for SC/ST/PWD) and with Full time Diploma in Industrial Safety recognized under Industrial Safety / Factory’s Act.
Geology: 05 Nos. (Gen—3; SC—00; ST—1; OBC—1)
Qualification: Full time M.Sc./M. Tech. (Geology/Applied Geology/ Geophysics) with Engineering Geology as main subject or M.Sc./ M. Tech. in Engineering Geology with 55% marks in aggregate (50% for SC/ST/PWD)
Architecture: 02 Nos. (Gen—1; OBC—1)
Qualification: Full Time Degree in Architecture with 55% marks in aggregate (50% for SC/ST/PWD)
Company Secretarial: 1 Nos. (Gen)
Qualification: Graduate and qualified Company Secretary with membership of the Institute of the Company Secretary of India. Graduate Degree in Law or MBA will be preferred.
Reservation of vacancies for PWD candidates is as per norms.
Age Limit: Maximum 30yrs as on last date of Online Application form. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST – 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; PWD- 10yrs; Ex-Serviceman and Others – As per norms.
Compensation Package: During the training period of one year, Executive Trainees will draw Basic Pay of Rs.20600/- and IDA, along with allowances up to 47% of Basic Pay under cafeteria approach.
On successful completion of Training period they will be placed in the regular Pay Scale of R. 24900-50500/- at E2A level and shall be on probation for a period of one year.
Candidates’ Selection: Candidates will go through All India written test. Candidates will be shortlisted for Group Discussion and Personnel Interview based on the performance in written test.
The written test will be held in the following centers — Shimla, Dehradun, New Delhi and Patna.
Exact date and venue will be intimated in due course as well as will be informed through company’s website.
Written Test: The test will be in two parts, Part-I will consist of 120 multiple-choice questions of the relevant discipline and Part-II will consist of 30 multiple-choice questions on Executive Aptitude
Group Discussion & Personal Interview: Based on the merit and requirement, the candidates qualifying the written test will be informed separately and be required to undergo Group Discussion and Personal Interview before the Company’s Central Selection Board

Upon successful submission of Online Application form, the system will generate a Registration Slip with unique Registration Number and a Fee payment Challan. Candidates must retain the print-out Registration Slip for future use and shall deposit the Application Fee through the system generated Fee Challan.
Application Fee: General and OBC candidates are required to pay Application Fee of Rs.300/- (Bank charges additional) through the system generated fee payment challan from any braches of State Bank of India in a specially opened account at New Shimla Branch, Shimla, on behalf of SJVN.
After depositing the Application Fee in SBI, candidates are NOT required to send any hard copy of the Application to the company. Verification of documents and fee payment will be done during selection steps.
