South Western Railway, Hubli – Recruitment of 333 Nos. Act Apprentices Trainee. Last Dt. 10/05/2014

South Western Railway (SWR) is inviting application from the ITI pass candidates for engagement of Act Apprentices in Carriage Repair Workshop, SWR Hubli. The engagement of trainees will be made on different trades such as – Fitter, Machinist, Turner, Welder, Electrician, Ref & AC Mechanic. Training Notification No. 01/2014. Total vacancies – 333 Nos. Interested and eligible candidates may apply on prescribed application format (See below). Educational qualification norms and brief details are given below —

NAME & NO. OF VACANCIES IN THE TRADES —
1. Fitter: 178 Nos. (Gen—92; SC—25; ST—12; OBC—49)
2. Machinist: 15 Nos. (Gen—8; SC—2; ST—1; OBC—4)
3. Turner: 20 Nos. (Gen—10; SC—3; ST—2; OBC—5)
4. Welder: 83 Nos. (Gen—41; SC—12; ST—7; OBC—3)
5. Electrician: 24 Nos. (Gen—12; SC—4; ST—2; OBC—6)
6. Ref A/C Mechanic: 13 Nos. (Gen—6; SC—3; ST—1; OBC—3)
Out of total vacancies 3% seats are reserved for PH candidates. 

Educational Qualification: Matriculation (Class 10) pass and I.T.I. certificate in the relevant trade.

Age Limit: Minimum 15yrs and maximum 24yrs as on 11/04/2014. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST – 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; PWD- 10yrs; and Others – As per norms.

Selection of the candidates will be on basis of merit wise i.e. on basis of performance/ marks obtained by the candidates in Metric or Class 10. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for documents verification and Physical fitness examination. See the PDF file given below for details.

How to Apply: Interested and eligible candidates may apply only on a prescribed application format (See PDF file below). The application can be prepared on plain A4 size paper neatly typing strictly as the format.
The Application form shall be enclosed with Attested Copies (Attestation by Gazetted Officer only) of testimonials in support of eligibility, such as – Educational/Technical Certificate and Mark sheet, Age proof certificate, Caste certificate and Etc.
Two recent passport size photographs duly signed across by the candidate and attested by the Gazetted Officer shall be pasted on the form (one on the Application form and other on the Call Letter)

Candidates shall also enclose two Self-Addressed envelopes (11×5 inches) affixed with postal stamp of Rs.5/- on each, along with the Application form. (SC/ST and PH candidates do not need to affix postal stamp on the self-addressed envelopes)

The applicants will have to register with a local employment exchange falling in the states of Karnataka and the adjoining districts of states served by the South Western Railway i.e Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Goa (Not applicable for the wards of Railway employees)

Last Date and Address: The duly filled Application form along with enclosures shall reach the following address on or before 10/05/2014 by Ordinary Post — Workshop Personnel Officer, Carriage Repair Workshop, South Western Railway, Gadag Road, Hubli-58 0020 (KARNATAKA)
The Application form can be also submitted in person by dropping it in the Drop-Box kept in the above addressed office within last date.
