Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) is recruiting 138 eligible male and female candidates for the posts of “Head Constable (Ministerial)” and “Assistant Sub-Inspector (Stenographer)”. 1. HEAD CONSTABLE (MINISTERIAL)
Number of Vacancies: 110 Nos. (Gen—60; SC—15; ST—08; OBC—27). Out of them 14 Nos. Ex-Servicemen (General)
Educational Qualification: Intermediate or Senior Secondary School Certificate (10+2) examination.
Technical Requirement (Skill test will be performed): English Typing with minimum speed of 35 words per minute on computer; or Hindi Typing with minimum speed of 30 words per minute on computer.
Age: 18 to 25 yrs as on 01/08/2013. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST – 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; Ex-Serviceman and Others – As per norms.
Pay Scale: Rs.5200—20200 and Grade Pay: Rs.2400/-
2. ASSISTANT SUB-INSPECTOR (STENOGRAPHER)
Number of Vacancies: 25 Nos.
Educational Qualification: Intermediate or Senior Secondary School Certificate (10+2) examination
Technical Requirement (Skill test will be performed): (i) Ability to take Dictation @ 80 words per minute for 10 minutes, (ii) Transcribe the same on Computer within 50 minutes, if English and 65 minutes if Hindi.
Age: 18 to 25 yrs as on 01/08/2013. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST – 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; Ex-Serviceman and Others – As per norms.
Pay Scale: Rs.5200—20200 and Grade Pay: Rs.2800/-
Physical Standards (For all posts) —
For Male candidates: Height—162.5cms (162.5cms for ST and candidates from Hill area/ North eastern States); Chest (unexpanded/ expanded) — 77cms/82cms; Weight — As per medical standards.
For Female candidates: Height—155cms (150cms for ST and candidates from Hill area/ North eastern States); Chest – Not applicable; Weight—As per medical standards.
Physical Efficiency Test (for all posts) —
For Male candidates: (i) 800 Mtrs race to be completed in 3 minutes., (ii) 11 feet long jump (in three chances) and (iii) 3 ½ feet high jump (in three chances)
For Female candidates: (i) 800 Mtrs race to be completed in 4 minutes., (ii) 8 feet long jump in three chances and (iii) 3 feet high jump in three chances.
Medical Standards (For both male and female candidates) —
Eye Sight– The minimum distant vision should be 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in other eye without correction i.e. without wearing glasses or lenses. Visual correction of any kind is not permitted.
Candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and should possess high colour vision. They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties.
