Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is inviting application from the eligible candidates for 1064 posts of Stenographers (Grade ‘C’ & ‘D’). Interested and eligible candidates may apply Online only through the official website of the SSC (See URL below). Selection of the candidates will be through an All India Open Competitive Examination, i.e. Stenographers (Grade ‘C’ & ‘D’) Examination-2015 Educational qualification required and other details in brief, for informational purpose only in interest of job seeker, are given below —

 

SSC INVITES ONLINE APPLICATION FOR 1064 POSTS OF STENOGRAPHERS (GRADE ‘C’ & ‘D’). LAST DATE — 07/09/2015

 

1. Stenographer Grade ‘C’: 50 Nos. (UR-28,SC-05,ST-08,OBC-09)
Educational Qualification: Must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent from a recognized Board or University.
Candidates must have ability to take Shorthand dictation for 10 minutes in English or Hindi at the speed of 100 w.p.m. on Computer only AND Transcription of same within 40 minutes (ENglish) or 55 minutes (Hindi). Candidates must choose either Hindi or English as a medium of Stenography.

Age Limit: 18 to 27 years as on 01/08/2015

 

2. Stenographer Grade ‘D’:1014 Nos. (UR-642,SC-113,ST-61, OBC-198)
Educational Qualification: Must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent from a recognized Board or University. Candidates must have ability to take Shorthand dictation for 10 minutes in English or Hindi at the speed of 80 w.p.m. on Computer only AND Transcription of same within 50 minutes (English) or 65 minutes (Hindi). Candidates must choose either Hindi or English as a medium of Stenography.
Age Limit: 18 to 27 years as on 01/08/2015

 

Upper Age Relaxation: Upper age relaxation for SC/ST – 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; Widow/Divorced women/legally separated women – 08yrs; PWD- 10yrs; Domicile of J&K—05yrs; Ex-Serviceman and Others, if any – As per Govt. norms.

 

Candidates’ Selection: Selection of the candidates will be through an All India Open Competitive Examination, i.e. Stenographers (Grade ‘C’ & ‘D’) Examination-2015 and Skill Test in Stenography.

Tentative date of Written Test is 27/12/2015 and will be hold at various centres of SSC across the Country.

Stenography Test will be – Dictation for 10 minutes in English / Hindi at the speed of 100 w.p.m. for the post of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and 80 w.p.m. for the post of Stenographer Grade ‘D’. The matter will have to be
transcribed on computer only. Transcription of same will be 50 minutes (English)/65 minutes (Hindi) for Stenographer D and 40 minutes (English)/ 55 minutes (Hindi) for Stenographer C

Vacancies of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ are in Ministries/Departments of Central Government, located mostly in Delhi and vacancies of Stenographer Grade ‘D’ are for Ministries/Departments of Central Government including Attached/Subordinate offices located in States and Union Territories all over the country.

Application Fee: Candidates must pay Rs.100/- as Application Fee. Fee can be paid through Online mode during submission of online application form by using Debit/Credit card or Net banking or any other option available. See officially released advertisement for more details.

NO APPLICATION FEE REQUIRED IN CASE OF ALL WOMEN CANDIDATES, SC/ST, PWD AND EX-SERVICEMEN CATEGORIES.

 

How to Apply: Interested and eligible candidates may apply online only through the official website of SSC — www.ssc.gov.in (See link to Application form given below) till dated 07/09/2015

Upon successful submission of online application form, the system generated Registration Slip will appear on the computer screen. Candidates must print-out it and should retain the same for future correspondence.  DO NOT SEND THE PRINT-OUT OF ONLINE APPLICATION TO THE COMMISSION AT THIS STAGE.

Candidates may also apply for the vacancies through Offline mode application, i.e. on prescribed application format which can be downloaded from the official website of SSC. Candidates applying Offline should pay their Application Fee through offline mode in form Central Recruitment Fee Stamp (CRFS).
