Staff Selection Commission (SSC) – Recruitment of 2892 Sub-Inspector & Asst. SI in CISF, CAPF & Delhi Police. Last Dt. 11/04/14 (18.4.14)

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is inviting application from the eligible candidates for recruitment of “Sub-Inspector” and “Assistant Sub-Inspector” in Delhi Police, Central Armed Police Force (CAPFs) and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). Total vacancies— 2892 Nos. Selection of the candidates will be through Written Examination followed by other steps (See below). Interested and eligible candidates may apply online. Educational qualification norms and brief details are given below —

SUB-INSPECTOR IN DELHI POLICE 
Number of Vacancies: 131 Nos. (Gen—88; OBC—9; SC—16; ST—3; Ex-Servicemen—15). There is no vacancies for women candidates in Delhi Police for SI (Exe)

SUB-INSPECTOR IN CENTRAL ARMED POLICE FORCE (CAPFs)
Number of Vacancies: 2197 Nos. Distribution of vacancies are as follows —
— CRPF: 194 Nos. (Gen—99; OBC—52; SC—14; ST—29). Out of them 16 reserved for Female candidates.
— BSF: 772 Nos. (Gen—390; OBC—109; SC—58; ST—115). Out of them 39 reserved for Female candidates.
— ITBP: 138 Nos. (Gen—55; OBC—54; SC—14; ST—15). Vacancy not applicable for Female candidates.
— CISF: 1023 Nos. (Gen—519; OBC—275; SC—76; ST—153). Out of them 102 reserved for Female candidates
— SSB: 70 Nos. (Gen—37; OBC—18; SC—5; ST—10). Out of them 2 reserved for Women candidates

ASSISTANT SUB-INSPECTOR IN CENTRAL INDUSTRIAL SECURITY FORCE (CISF)
Number of Vacancies: 564 Nos. (Gen—287; OBC—151; SC—84; ST—04). Out of them 56 reserved for Female candidates.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:
Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or equivalent.
For the post of SI in Delhi Police only, candidates shall posses a valid driving licence for light motor vehicle (Motor cycle and Car)

AGE LIMIT (FOR ALL POSTS)
Candidates shall be between 20yrs to 25yrs as on 01-01-2014. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST – 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; PWD- 10yrs; Ex-Serviceman and Others – As per norms.

PHYSICAL STANDARDS:
(i). For Male Candidates: Height – 170cms (162.5 cms for ST and 165cms for Hill areas candidates); Chest (unexpanded/ expanded) —80/85cms (77/82cms for ST and 80/85cms for Hill areas)

(ii). For Female Candidates: Height—157cms (154cms for ST and 155cms for Hill areas); Chest—Not Applicable.

Weight: Corresponding to height for all posts.
Eye sight: The minimum distant vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 of two eyes without correction i.e.without wearing of glasses.
Candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and should possess high colour vision. They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties

Selection of the candidates will be through Written Examination, Physical Measurement, Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Medical Examination.

PHYSICAL EFFICIENCY TEST (FOR ALL POSTS)
1). For male candidates only —
a) 100 meters race in 16 seconds 
b) 1.6 Kms race in 6.5 minutes 
c) Long Jump : 3.65 metres in 3 chances 
d) High Jump : 1.2 metres in 3 chances 
e) Shot put (16 Lbs): 4.5 metres in 3 chances 

2). For Female candidates only—
a) 100 metres race in 18 seconds 
b) 800 metres race in 4 minutes 
c) Long Jump: 2.7 metres (9 feet) in 3 chances. 
d) High Jump : 0.9 metres (3 feet) in 3 chances

Candidates shall pay Application Fee of Rs.100 only through Central Recruitment Fee (CRF) Stamp in case of Off-line mode application OR through SBI Challan or on-line payment mode through State Bank of India for on-line mode applications.

HOW TO APPLY:
Interested and eligible candidates may apply online or offline.

Online Application Mode: To apply online, visit the official website of SSC— www.ssconline.nic.in  (Live URL to Application form is given below). Online application is in two parts, i.e. Part-I and Part-II.
In Part I registration, candidate will have to fill basic information. On submission of details, candidate shall be prompted to check the details and make any correction in the application. After submission of part-I application, a page with Registration No. shall be generated. Note down registration number or take out the print out of the page. Fee challan will be generated for payment of fee through bank transaction.
Now candidates may proceed to Part-II Registration form after paying the prescribed fee (not applicable for SC/ST/ Ex-Sm and Women candidates). Those who want to pay online through SBI net banking, can go directly to part II registration after completion of part I. Part II registration requires filling of payment details, uploading of photograph and scanned signature.
After submitting the Part-II registration form, the online registration process is complete.

Offline Mode Application: To Apply offline, i.e. in hard copy of application form, candidates shall download the prescribed application form from the website of SSC (PDF format given below)
The duly filled Application form, after pasting passport size photograph and providing signature in the space provided as well as cancelled CRF Stamp, shall be addressed to the relevant Regional Offices of SSC where the candidates willing to sit for examination.  Candidates from West Bengal may sent their application at — Regional Director(CR), Staff Selection Commission, 21-23 Lowther Road, Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh-211002
