Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is conducting Combined Defence Services Examination (I) 2013 (Including SSC Women Non-Technical Course), for admission to various Training Course in Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Air Force Academy, Officers Training Academy (Men/ Women). Total vacancies—509 Nos. Information in brief is given below –
NAME OF THE COURSE AND APPROXIMATE VACANCIES —
1. Indian Military Academy, Dehradun (136th Course commencing in January, 2014): 250 Nos. out of them 32 is reserved for NCC ‘C’ certificate holders.
Qualification: Degree or equivalent of recognised University
Age: Unmarried Male candidates only born between 2nd Jan 1990 to 1st Jan 1995
2. Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala (Course commencing in January 2014): 40 Nos.
Qualification: Degree in Engineering.
Age: Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January, 1992 (2nd January, 1990 in case of NCC Naval Wing ‘C’ Certificate holders) and not later than 1st January, 1995
3. Air Force Academy, Hyderabad (Pre-flying Training Course commencing in Jan-2014): 32 Nos.
Qualification: Degree (must have studied Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering.
Age: Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January, 1991 and not later than 1st January, 1995
4. Officers Training Academy, Chennai (99th SSC course for Men commencing in April-2014): 175 Nos.
Qualification: Degree or equivalent of recognised University
Age: Male candidates (married or unmarried) born not earlier than 2nd January, 1989 and not later than 1st January, 1995
5. Officers Training Academy, Chennai (13th SSC Women- Non-Technical course commencing in April-2014): 12 Nos.
Age: Unmarried Women, issueless widows who have not remarried and issueless divorcees (in possession of divorce documents) who have not remarried are eligible. They should have been born not earlier than 2nd January, 1989 and not later than 1st January, 1995.
How to Apply: Eligible candidates must apply Online only from the official website of UPSC — http://www.upsc.gov.in
The eligible candidates may later download e-Admission Certificate 3 weeks before the commencement of Examination. For details, refer the Advt. (Link given below)
There is no need to send any documents by post. Candidates must mention their valid email id during application.
The examination will be held at respective centres according to State/ City wise. For West Bengal, it will be Kolkata.
Application fee: Rs.200/- is to be paid through any branch of SBI or any associate banks of SBI or can be paid online using Credit/ Debit Card. (Refer the Advt. for details)
SC/ST and Women candidates were exempted for Application fee.
