Visakhapatnam Steel Plant – VIZAG Steel is recruiting 248 Junior Trainees in Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation branches. Rectt. Advt. No. 06/2014. Interested and eligible candidates may submit their application through Online System from the official website of Vizag Steel (See URL below). Educational Qualification norms and details in brief are given below —

JUNIOR TRAINEES 
Number of Vacancies: 248 Nos. (Gen—124; SC—45; ST—10; OBC—69)

Name of Discipline/Branch, Educational Qualification required and No. of vacancies are as follows —
1. Mechanical: 169 Nos.
Qualification: SSC with ITI (2 years and above duration) and NCVT Certificate in any one of the following trades — Fitter, Machinist, Mill Wright, Turner, Draughtsman (Mechanical) OR Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

2. Electrical: 72 Nos.
Qualification: SSC with ITI (2 years and above duration) and NCVT Certificate in the trade of Electrician. OR Diploma in Electrical Engineering.

3. Instrumentation: 07 Nos.
Qualification: SSC with ITI (2 years and above duration) and NCVT Certificate in any one of the following trades — Electronics, Instrument Mechanic. OR Diploma in Electronics/ Electronics & Communications/ Instrumentation/ Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering.

Important Notes: 
(i) General and OBC candidates shall have obtained minimum 60% marks in ITI or in Diploma in Engineering, whereas 50% marks required in case of SC/ST and PWD candidates.
(ii) Only Male candidates are eligible to apply for Mechanical and Electrical discipline/branch. Both Male and Female candidates may apply for Instrumentation discipline/branch.
(iii) Ex-Servicemen with equivalent qualification are also eligible to apply.

Age Limit: Minimum 18yrs and maximum 27yrs as on 01-06-2014. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST – 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; PWD- 10yrs; Ex-Serviceman and Others – As per norms.

Physical Standards of the candidates:
Male candidates: Height—150cms; Weight—min 45 Kgs; Chest (unexpanded/ expanded) —75cms/ 80cms.
Female Candidates: Height—143cms; Weight—Min 35 Kgs.
Candidates shall have normal eye sight (Power of glasses not to exceed ±2, if worn) and shall be free from squint and color blindness.

Stipend during Training Period: Candidates will be paid a monthly stipend of Rs.10,700/- (consolidated) during the first year and a monthly stipend of Rs.12,200/- (consolidated) during the remaining period of training.
On satisfactory completion of training, candidates will be considered for appointment on probation to a regular post, subject to availability of vacancies in any Operation/Maintenance/ Service/ Mines area, with a minimum basic pay of Rs.9160/- in the pay scale of Rs.9160— Rs.13150/- (S-3) with usual D.A. and allowances as per norms.

Candidates’ Selection: Selection of the candidates will be through Written Test. Candidates shortlisted based on performance in written test will be called for interview. For details, see the below given PDF file.
Candidates are required to download their Admit Cards for the written test from company’s website – www.vizagsteel.com,  on or after 27th July 2014.

Application Fee: Rs.300/- for General and OBC candidates. Fee is to be paid through any branches of State Bank of India in the prescribed challan. Fee challan can be downloaded from the website of Vizag Steel (See url below). Candidates depositing fee through other than State Bank of India, shall pay extra Rs.25/- as bank commission. 
NO APPLICATION FEE FOR SC/ST AND PWD CANDIDATES.

After successful submission of online Application form, download the computer generated Registration Slip with unique registration number, photograph, signature and other essential details.
Print-out of the Registration Slip will require to produce at the time of written test/interview. DO NOT SEND THE PRINT-OUT/ ANY DOCUMENTS TO THE COMPANY AT THIS STAGE.
