WB PSC conducting West Bengal Judicial Service Examination-2013. Last Dt. 25/03/2013

Public Service Commission of West Bengal is going to conduct West Bengal Judicial Service Examination – 2013 for the recruitment to the posts in West Bengal Judicial Service. Eligible candidates may apply on prescribed application form. The posts are initially on contractual basis. Selection of the candidates will be through Preliminary Examination, Main Examination and Personality Test. Qualification norms and brief information is given below —

Anticipated Vacancies: 21 Nos. (Gen—12; BC (Backward Class-A)—4; BC-B—1; SC—02; ST—01; PWD—01)

Qualification Required: A degree in Law and Enrollment as an advocate in the roll of Bar Council of any State or Union Territory in India AND Ability to read, write and speak in Bengali (not required in the case of Nepali speaking candidates of the three Hill Sub-divisions of Darjeeling District, viz., Darjeeling Sadar, Kalimpong and Kurseong ).

Age Limits: Between 23yrs to 35yrs as on 26-02-2013. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST and OBC candidates of West Bengal is 5yrs and 3yrs respectively. PWD candidates—10yrs; and Others—as per Govt. norms.

Pay Scale: Rs.27700—Rs.44770 plus other allowances as per norms.

Appointments to the posts will be made initially on temporary basis.
Selection of the candidates will be through Preliminary Examination which will be held in Kolkata and Darjeeling on May, 2013. Preliminary examination will be of Multiple Choice Objective type.
Candidates qualifying the preliminary examination will be called from Main Written Test which will be Conventional Type. Finally there will be Personality Test. The final examination may hold on July, 2013 at Kolkata only.

Application Fee: Candidates willing to apply for the examination shall have to pay Application fee of Rs.210/- in form of Crossed Indian Postal Order favouring the Secretary, Public Service Commission, West Bengal or inform of Treasury Challan under the head “0051-00-105-State PSC Examination fees-001-Examination fees-16-other fees”
Application fee is not required in case of SC/ST/PH candidates but they should provide self-attested caste certificate along with application form. 

How to Apply: Apply on prescribed application form.
Candidates must enclose the following documents along with their application form —
(i) I.P.O./Treasury Challan, in original, for Rs.210/- only (not required for SC/ST / PH candidates of West Bengal)
(ii) One copy of his/her recent passport size photograph signed by him/her and pasted on the application
(iii) Self-attested photocopies of certificates of age and prescribed educational qualification
(iv) Self-attested photocopies of certificate obtained from the Bar Council in support of his/her enrollment as an Advocate
(v) Self-attested documents/ certificate in case of SC/ST/PH/ BC candidates
(vi) Certificate in original for age relaxation in case of Government servant (where applicable)
(vii) Two un-stamped self addressed envelopes

Application form can be sent by post (Speed/ Registered post) at — Deputy Secretary (Examination), Public Service Commission, 161-A, S.P. Mukherjee Road, Kolkata – 700 026 OR can be submitted in person at the enquiry counter of the Commission’s office at 161-A, S.P. Mukherjee Road, Kolkata – 700 026 between 11-00 a.m. and 03-30 p.m. on working days.

Candidates may not submit more than one application form. Doing so will lead to cancellation.
