West Bengal Health Recruitment Board (WBHRB) is recruiting eligible candidates for the post of Medical Officer (both General duty & Specialists) in the cadre of the West Bengal Health Service (Basic Grade) and Block Medical Officer of Healths (Basic public health-cum-https://www.karmasandhan.com/wp-content/uploads/Madhya-Pradesh-MP-PEB-Group-2-Sub-Group-4-Various-Post-Answer-Key-2021.jpgistrative officer) in West Bengal Public Health cum Administrative Services under Health & Family Welfare Department, Govt. of West Bengal. WEST BENGAL HEALTH RECRUITMENT BOARD – ONLINE APPLICATION FOR MEDICAL OFFICER (GD & SPEC.) AND BLOCK MEDICAL OFFICER. LAST DT. – 16/06/2014

1. GENERAL DUTY MEDICAL OFFICER
Number of Vacancies: 1492 Nos. (Gen—789; SC—330; ST—89; BC-A—149; BC-B—105; PWD—30)
Qualification: Medical qualification included in the First or Second Schedule or Part-II of the Third Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956) and Registration as Medical Practitioner in West Bengal.
AND One year’s practical training as House Staff in any Govt. Hospital or other recognized institution.
Desirable—Working experience in the field of Public Health is desirable.

2. BLOCK MEDICAL OFFICER OF HEALTH (Basic public health-cum-https://www.karmasandhan.com/wp-content/uploads/Madhya-Pradesh-MP-PEB-Group-2-Sub-Group-4-Various-Post-Answer-Key-2021.jpgistrative Officer)
Number of Vacancies: 117 Nos. (Gen—62; SC—26; ST—7; BC-A—12; BC-B—8; PWD—2)
Qualification: Medical qualification included in the First or Second Schedule or Part-II of the Third Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and Registration as Medical Practitioner in West Bengal.
Preference will be given to candidates who possess recognized Post Graduate Degree or Post Graduate Diploma in Public Health, Epidemiology, Health Management and Hospital Administration.

3. MEDICAL OFFICER (SPECIALIST)
Number of Vacancies: 706 Nos. (Gen—375; SC—156; ST—42; BC-A—70; BC-B—49; PWD—14)
Break-up of vacancies as per Discipline wise —
General Medicine: 114 Nos.
General Surgery: 112 Nos.
Gynae & Obs: 150 Nos.
Anaesthesia: 96 Nos
Ophthalmology: 20 Nos
Otorhinolaryngology: 20 Nos.
Dermatology: 15 Nos.
Microbiology/ Pathology: 15 Nos.
Paediatric Medicine: 90 Nos.
Orthopaedic Surgery: 30 Nos.
Radiodiagnosis: 22 Nos.
Psychiatry: 10 Nos.
Medico-legal: 12 Nos.
Qualification: Medical qualification included in the First or Second Schedule or Part-II of the Third Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and Registration as Medical Practitioner in West Bengal.
AND One year’s practical training as House Staff in any Govt. Hospital or other recognized institution
AND recognized Post-Graduate qualification in respective specially or equivalent qualification.

N.B: The candidates must have ability to read, write and speak in Bengali (not required in the case of Nepali speaking candidates of the three Hills sub-division of Darjeeling district, viz – Darjeeling Sadar, Kalimpong & Kurseong). 

Age Limit (For all vacancies): Maximum 32yrs as on 01-01-2014 for Ordinary Graduates and 40 years for those possessing Post Graduate qualification, relaxable for otherwise qualified & experienced candidates.
Upper age relaxation for SC/ST – 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; PWD- 10yrs; Ex-Serviceman and Others – As per norms.

Application Fee: Candidates must submit the Application Fee of Rs.210/- either by Net Banking or Offline through Bank Counter in any branch of Banks participating in the GRIPS (Govt. Receipt Portal System) by means of Fee Challan which will be generated automatically upon successful submission of Online Application form.
NO APPLICATION FEE FOR SC/ ST CANDIDATES OF WEST BENGAL AND PWD CANDIDATES.

Online Application form is to be submitted in two steps, i.e. upon submission of basic information the fee payment challan will appear on the computer screen (for offline mode fee payment). Candidates must print-out it (SC/ST/PWD candidates will skip this step) and shall deposit the above prescribed fee through bank. After deposition of Fee candidates shall revisit the website and shall give their fee payment details. Now candidates may submit the form for final.

After final submission of online Application form, the system generated Registration Slip will appear on the computer screen. Candidates must print-out it and shall retain it safely for future correspondence. DO NOT SEND THE PRINT-OUT TO ANYWHERE.
