SUB-INSPECTOR OF EXCISE INCLUDING LADY SUB-INSPECTOR OF EXCISE
No. of Vacancies: 161 Nos. (UR-87, SC-35, ST-10, OBC-29)
Educational Qualification:
(i) Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university or its equivalent.
(ii) Candidate must be able to speak, read and write in Bengali/ Nepali.
Age Limit: Minimum 20 years and maximum 27 years as on 01.01.2018. Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST and 03 years for OBC category.
SC/ST/OBC–A/OBC–B candidates of States other than West Bengal will be treated as Unreserved (General) category candidates.
Pay Scale: Rs.7,100 – Rs.37,600 and Grade Pay Rs.3,900/-
Physical Standard:
Sub-Inspector of Excise:
(i) Height- 167 cm (160 cm for Gorkhas, Rajbansis and ST)
(ii) Chest- 79 cm with a minimum expansion of 05 cm (76 cm with a minimum expansion of 05 cm for Gorkhas, Rajbansis and ST)
(iii) Weight- 56 kg (52 kg for Gorkhas, Rajbansis and ST).
Lady Sub-Inspector of Excise:
(i) Height– 160 cm (155 cm for Gorkhas, Rajbansis and ST)
(ii) Weight– 48 kg (45 kg for Gorkhas, Rajbansis and ST).
Candidates’ Selection: Selection of the candidates will be through Preliminary Written Test, Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Physical Efficiency Tests, Final Combined Competitive Examination and Personality Test.

Upon successful payment of prescribed fee and submission of online application form, the system generated Registration/ Acknowledgement Slip with unique registration number will appear on the computer screen.
