Department of Post, West Bengal Circle is inviting application from the eligible candidates for 439 posts of Postman/ Mailguard. WEST BENGAL POSTAL CIRCLE INVITES ONLINE APPLICATION FOR 439 POSTS OF POSTMAN/ MAILGUARD. LAST DATE — 27/01/2016

 

1. Postman/ Mailguard: 439 Nos.

Educational Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent pass from a recognized Board or University.

 

Age Limit: 18 years to 27 years as on 27/01/2016

 

Pay Scale: Rs.5200 – Rs.20200 and Grade Pay: Rs.2000/- plus other allowances as per norms.

 

Upper Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST, 03 years for OBC and 10 years for PWD category. Ex-Serviceman & Others, if any – As per Govt. norms.

 

Candidates’ Selection: Selection will be through Aptitude Test/Written Test consists of class 10/Matriculation level subjects/topics, viz – General Knowledge, Mathematics, English and Regional Language.

Selection is based on Divisional level merit from among the qualified candidates applied for the Division / Unit concerned. See officially released advertisement for more details.

Examination will be at following centres – Kolkata, Siliguri, Gangtok, Port Blair, Midnapore and Howrah

Examination Fee: Candidates must pay Rs.100/- as Registration Fee and Rs.400/- as Examination Fee, i.e. total Rs.500/-. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes / Physically Impaired / Women are exempted from payment of Examination Fee but shall pay Registration Fee of Rs.100/- only. as Examination Fee.

Fee can be paid through Bank only by means of challan, i.e. e-payment mode through Post Offices. The applicants have to approach their nearest e-payment Post Offices (listed under the link E payment Post Offices in the said website) and to produce Fee Payment Challan printed by him/her & to pay the FEE in CASH (INR) only. The applicant can apply for only one Postal Division / Unit. Applying more than one will lead to cancellation of the Application form.
Upon successful payment of prescribed fee and submission of online application form, the system generated Registration/Acknowledgement Slip with unique registration number will appear on the computer screen. Candidates must print-out it for future correspondence. DO NOT SEND ANY PRINT-OUT/HARD COPY OR DOCUMENTS TO WEST BENGAL POSTAL CIRCLE AT THIS STAGE. All the verification will be done in due course.
