WEST BENGAL PSC INVITES ONLINE APPLICATION FOR  WEST BENGAL CIVIL SERVICE (EXECUTIVE) ETC. EXAMINATION, 2016 ON THE RESULTS OF WHICH RECRUITMENT TO THE WEST BENGAL CIVIL SERVICE (EXE.) AND CERTAIN OTHER SERVICES AND POSTS WILL BE MADE.. LAST DATE EXTENDED TO — 21/12/2015 (till midnight)

 

Public Service Commission, West Bengal will hold the West Bengal Civil Service (Exe) etc. Examination, 2016 on the results of which recruitment to the West Bengal Civil Service (Exe.) and certain other services and posts will be made.

The services and posts to which recruitment is made on the results of the W.B.C.S. (Exe.) etc. Examination are divided into groups: A, B, C and D with a graduated syllabus. A candidate may compete for one or more groups but is required to submit one application only indicating choice of group(s).

NUMBER OF VACANCIES:
The number of vacancies in different services and posts to be filled up on the results of the examination will be announced in due time. The reservation of vacancies as per SC/ST, OBC and PWD will be as per norms.

The benefits of reservation of vacancies for S.C/S.T/B.C. candidates are admissible to S.C./S.T./B.C. candidates of West Bengal only. The S.C./S.T./B.C. candidates of other States shall be treated as general candidates.

 

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:
(i) Degree from a recognized University in any discipline.
(ii) Candidates should have ability to read, write and speak in Bengali (not required in the case of Nepali speaking candidates of the three Hill Sub-divisions of Darjeeling District, viz., Darjeeling Sadar, Kalimpong and Kurseong).

Note: Candidates applying for the post is Group ‘B’ services must meet the following physical standards –
(i) The minimum height requirement is 1.65 metres for male candidates and 1.50 metres for female candidates subject to relaxation in the case of candidates belonging to races such as Gorkhas, Garwalis, Assamese, Tribals etc. Candidates intending to be considered for this Group must indicate their height in appropriate column of the application form.

 

AGE LIMITS:
(i) For posts included in Group – A, C & D: Not below 21 years and not more than 32 years i.e. born not earlier than the 2nd January, 1984 and not later than the 1st January, 1995.
(ii) For posts included in Group – B: Not below 20 years but not more than 32 years i.e. born not earlier than the 2nd January, 1984 and not later than the 1st January, 1996.
Those candidates whose date of birth lies between the 1st January, 1995 & the 1st January, 1996 [i.e. whose age is between 20 & 21 years as on 01.01.2016] may apply for Group B only.

 

AGE RELAXATION:
The upper age limit is relaxable for S.C., S.T. & B.C. candidates of West Bengal, by 5 years for S.C. & S.T. candidates and by 3 years for B.C. candidates. In the case of Persons with Disabilities (PWD), the upper age limit is relaxable upto 45 years. S.C./S.T./B.C. candidates of other States shall be treated as general candidates.

 

CANDIDATES’ SELECTION:
Public Service Commission, West Bengal will hold the West Bengal Civil Service (Exe) etc. Examination, 2016.

The W.B.C.S. (Exe.) etc. Examination will be held in two successive stages, viz., (i) Preliminary Examination (Objective Type) and (ii) Main Examination (Both Objective and Conventional Type-Written) and Personality Test.

A number of candidates to be selected on the results of the Preliminary Examination will be allowed admission to the Main Examination and a number of candidates to be selected on the results of the Main Examination (Written / Objective) will be called to appear at the Personality Test.

The Preliminary Examination will be held at various centres in Kolkata and in certain other districts in West Bengal sometime in the month of JANUARY, 2016. Only scheduled tribe candidates of Darjeeling district and other candidates of the three hill sub-divisions, namely Darjeeling Sadar, Kalimpong and Kurseong will be allowed to appear at Darjeeling centre.

The Main Examination will be held in Kolkata in the later part of the same year. The Personality Test will be held thereafter in the office of the Public Service Commission, West Bengal, in Kolkata.

Preliminary Examination will be hold at following centres – Kolkata (North), Kolkata (South), Baruipur, Diamond Harbour, Barrackpore, Barasat, Howrah, Burdwan, Asansol, Medinipur, Tamluk, Bankura, Berhampore, Malda, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, Cooch Behar, Siliguri and Darjeeling.

APPLICATION FEE:
Candidates must pay Rs.200/- as Application Fee. Fee can be paid through Online mode during submission of online application form by using Debit/Credit card or Net banking OR can be paid through Bank by means of fee payment Challan. Fee Challan can be downloaded from the official website of West Bengal Public Service Commission. See released advertisement for more details.

NO APPLICATION FEE REQUIRED IN CASE OF SC/ST OF WEST BENGAL AND PWD CANDIDATES.

 

HOW TO APPLY:
Interested and eligible candidates may apply online only through the official website of West Bengal Public Service Commission — www.pscwb.org.in (See link to Application form given below) from dated 04/12/2015 (11:30 AM) to 18/12/2015 EXTENDED TO 21/12/2015(till midnight)

Candidates have to first go for “One Time Registration” (link available on top of the left panel in home page of the website www.pscwbonline.gov.in) and fill up all the required data and uploading scanned photo and signature to get User ID and Password. However, those candidates who have earlier registered themselves with PSC, West Bengal need not register once again. They can use their previous User Id and Password for login into their respective Dashboards. See officially released advertisement for more details.

Upon successful payment of prescribed fee and submission of online application form, the system generated Registration/Acknowledgement Slip with unique registration number will appear on the computer screen. Candidates must print-out it for future correspondence. DO NOT SEND ANY PRINT-OUT/HARD COPY OR DOCUMENTS TO WEST BENGAL PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION AT THIS STAGE. All the verification will be done in due course.
