ENGLISH REPORTER RECRUITMENT EXAMINATION, 2017
No. of Vacancies: 13 Nos. [Unreserved – 06, SC – 03, ST – 01, BC(Category-A) – 02, BC(Category-B) – 01]
Educational Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree with English as one of the combination subjects in the degree course from a recognised University and speed in English Shorthand and Typing 140 words and 40 words per minute respectively.
Essential: Candidates must have ability to read, write and speak in Bengali (not required for those candidates whose mother tongue is Nepali)
Age Limit: Not more than 36 years as on 01.01.2017 (i.e. born not earlier than 2nd January, 1981).
Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST and 03 years for OBC.
Pay Scale: Rs.15,600/- to 42,000/- and Grade Pay Rs. 5,400/-
Candidates’ Selection: Selection of the candidates will be through English Reporter Recruitment Examination, 2017 which will be in two stages, ie. – (i) Part – I and (ii) Part – II. The Part-I examination will consist of one paper ((i.e. Paper-I). The Part-II examination will consist of Paper-II & Paper-III and Personality Test. The final merit list of candidates will be prepared on the basis of total marks obtained in Part-I & Part-II examinations and the Personality Test.
Examination will be held at the Commission’s office in Kolkata.
On basis of the English Reporter Recruitment Examination, 2017, recruitment will be made to the posts in English Reporter under the West Bengal Legislative Assembly Secretariat.
All appointments will initially be made on a temporary basis.

Fee can be paid through Online mode during submission of online application form by using Debit/Credit card or Net banking OR can be paid through Bank by means of fee payment Challan. How to Apply: Interested and eligible candidates may apply online only through the official website of West Bengal Public Service Commission (West Bengal PSC) — www.pscwb.org.in (See Application form’s link given below) from dated 24/04/2017 (11:30 AM) to 15/05/2017 (Till Midnight)
Candidates have to first go for “One Time Registration” (link available on top of the left panel in home page of the website www.pscwbonline.gov.in) and fill up all the required data and uploading scanned photo and signature to get User ID and Password. However, those candidates who have earlier registered themselves with PSC, West Bengal need not to do registration again. They can use their previous User Id and Password for login into their respective Dashboards. After login into the Dashboard, candidates will find the name of the Examination with Apply Now link. Click on the link and the application form will be opened.
Upon successful payment of prescribed fee and submission of online application form, the system generated Registration/ Acknowledgement Slip with unique registration number will appear on the computer screen. Candidates must print-out it for future correspondence. DO NOT SEND ANY PRINT-OUT/HARD COPY OR DOCUMENTS TO ANYWHERE AT THIS STAGE. All the verification will be done in due course.
