1. STENOGRAPHER

No. of Vacancies: 42 Nos.

 

Department wise vacancies:

i) Finance Deptt.: 32 posts (BC-19, SC-05, ST-08)

ii) Consumer Affairs Deptt: 10 posts (UR-04, SC-02, ST-01, BC-02, PH-LV-01)

 

Educational Qualification: Pass in Madhyamik Examination of the West Bengal board of Secondary Education or its equivalent and knowledge in Computer Literacy.

Candidates must have the ability to read, write and speak in Bengali (not applicable to those candidates whose mother tongue is Nepali)

 

Age Limit: Minimum-18 years and maximum-32 years as on 01/01/2016

 

Pay Scale: Rs.7100/- Rs.37600/- and Grade Pay Rs.3600/-

 

Upper Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST, 03 years for OBC and 10 years for PWD category. Ex-Serviceman & Others, if any — As per Govt. norms.

 

Candidates belong to SC, ST, BC (A-B) category of other states will be treated as general candidates.

 

Candidates’ Selection: Selection of the candidates will be through Online Examination which will consists of Paper-I – General English of 100 marks.

There will be Paper-II – Dictation & Transcription and Paper-III Computer Typing Test. See pdf file below for more details.

Application Fee: Candidates must pay Rs.220/- (Rs.20/- as processing fee in case of SC/ST) as Application Fee. Fee can be paid through Online mode during submission of online application form by using Debit/Credit card or Net banking or any other option available. How to Apply: Interested and eligible candidates may apply online only through the official website of West Bengal Staff Selection Commission (WBSSC) — www.wbssc.gov.in (See Application form’s link given below) from dated 18/11/2016 to 20/12/2016 (upto 4 PM)

 

Upon successful payment of prescribed fee and submission of online application form, the system generated Registration/ Acknowledgement Slip with unique registration number will appear on the computer screen. Candidates must print-out it for future correspondence. DO NOT SEND ANY PRINT-OUT/HARD COPY OR DOCUMENTS TO ANYWHERE AT THIS STAGE. All the verification will be done in due course.

Candidates facing inconvenience while submitting online application form or do not have access to Internet may submit their application through about 1800 Tathya Mitra Kendras set up by the Government of West Bengal up to the level of Gram Panchayats in the rural areas of West Bengal.

The Tathya Mitra Kendras will charge Rs.20/- for their service.
