West Bengal Staff Selection Commission, Kolkata, as per Advertisement No. 01/WBSSC/2012, is going to conduct an Open Competitive Examination for recruitment of the following posts – Veterinary Pharmacist/ Pharmacist cum Dresser, Livestock Development Assistant and Surveyor under different departments of Govt. of West Bengal. Eligibility criteria and brief information is given below —
1. Veterinary Pharmacist/ Pharmacist cum Dresser: 218 Nos. (Gen—105; SC—49; ST—14; BC—38; PH—8)
Qualification: Higher Secondary in Science with Biology as one of the subject and must have done two years of Diploma course in Veterinary Pharmacy from recognised board.
Candidates must know to read and write Bengali or Nepali.
Pay scale: Rs.7100—37600 and Grade pay: Rs.3200/-
2. Livestock Development Assistant: 139 Nos. (Gen—69; SC—31; ST—08; BC—24; PH—4; MSP—3)
Qualification: Madhyamik pass and must have done One year Certificate Course on Prani Sampad Bikash Prashikshan from recognised board.
Candidates must be physically fit and capable of riding bicycle. Candidates must know to read and write Bengali or Nepali.
Pay scale: Rs.5400—25200 and Grade pay: Rs.—2600/-
3. Surveyor: 2 Nos. (Gen—1; ST—1)
Qualification: Madhyamik pass and must have certificate of Senior Surveyorship from the
West Bengal Survey Institute, Bandel or the National Trade Certificate on Surveyorship from the Industrial Training Institute or its equivalent
3yrs of work experience in survey work is required. Candidates must know to read and write Bengali or Nepali.
Pay scale: Rs.7100—37600 and Grade pay: Rs.3600/-
Age Limits (For all above posts): Within 40 years of age as on 01/01/2012. Upper age relaxation for OBC—3yrs; SC/ST—5yrs; PH—10yrs; and Others—as per norms.

Application fee: General and OBC candidates must pay Application fee of Rs.200/- (Rs.120 in case of PH category). Candidates applying online may deposit the Application fee through Net banking or through Debit/ Credit card. Candidates applying Offline can deposit their Application fee in any of the Post Offices having e-payment facility. The facility will be available in more than 700 Post Offices of West Bengal.
SC/ST candidates are exempted from paying any examination fees.
