The vacancies are for a project entitled “Conservation of Red Panda (Ailurus fulgens) in Eastern Himalayas: evaluating distribution, population status and conservation genetics for long term management and implications in conservation”. The appointment of the candidates will be on Temporary basis for a period of five years and may be extended based on satisfactory performance of the candidates. PROJECT FELLOW
No. of Vacancies: 01 Nos.
Educational Qualification: M. Sc. in Zoology/ Life Sciences/ Environmental Science or equivalent.
Desirable: Prior work experience in the field surveys on higher vertebrates/ knowledge/ experience/ interest in wildlife/ ecology/ conservation biology/ Genetics/ DNA Barcoding/ Molecular phylogeny/ climate change. Proven experience through internship/ dissertation/ volunteership in field data collection or in DNA analysis, Science writing and communication.
Age Limit: Maximum-28 years
PROJECT ASSISTANT
No. of Vacancies: 01 Nos.
Educational Qualification: Science/ Engineering graduate or equivalent.
Desirable: Prior experience in handling lab equipment, processing museum/ old samples/ DNA analysis/ sequencing/ data analysis using R statistics and other bioinformatics softwares. Interested in wildlife/ ecology/ conservation genetics and proven experience through internship/ dissertation/ volunteership in field data collection or in DNA analysis.
Age Limit: Maximum-31 years
Upper Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST and 03 years for OBC category.
Candidates’ Selection: Selection of the candidates will be through Interview.
