WEST BENGAL POLICE INVITES ONLINE APPLICATION FOR 3000 POSTS OF EXCISE CONSTABLE (INCLUDING LADY EXCISE CONSTABLES). LAST DATE — 10.04.2019
1. EXCISE CONSTABLE (INCLUDING LADY EXCISE CONSTABLES)
No. of Vacancies: 3000 Nos. (UR-1650, SC-660, ST-180, OBC-510)
Educational Qualification: Must have passed Madhyamik Examination from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent having Bengali/ Nepali as a language paper of or above the Madhyamik level.
Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum 27 years as on 01/01/2019.
Pay Scale: Rs. 5,400 – 25,200/- plus Grade Pay Rs. 2,600/-.
The vacancies are in the Subordinate Excise Service under Finance Department, Govt. of West Bengal.
The selected candidates will undergo prescribed training at Police Training School (PTS) or Subsidiary Training Centre (STC) or any other training centre or institute.
Reserved Category candidates from the states other than West Bengal shall be treated as General Candidates.
Upper Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST and 03 years for OBC category of West Bengal.
Physical Standards:
(i) Male Candidates: Height — 167 cms (160 cms for Gorkhas, Rajbanshis and ST candidates); Chest (unexpanded) — 78 cms (76 cms for Gorkhas, Rajbanshis and ST); Chest (expanded) — 83 cms (81 cms for Gorkhas, Rajbanshis and ST)
(ii) Female Candidates: Height — 160 cms (152 cms for Gorkhas, Rajbanshis and ST candidates)
Candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and should possess high colour vision. They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties.
Candidates’ Selection: Selection of candidates will be through Preliminary Written Test, Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Final Written Test and Interview.
