CONSTABLE (MALE)

No. of Vacancies: 8419 Nos. (UR-4620, SC-1856, ST-538, OBC-1405)

 

Educational Qualification:

i) Must have passed Madhyamik Examination from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent.

ii) The candidate must be able to speak, read and write the Bengali language (not applicable to the candidates who are permanent residents of hill sub-divisions of Darjeeling and Kalimpong Districts).

 

Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum 27 years as on 01/01/2019.

 

Pay Scale: Rs. 5,400 – 25,200/- with Grade Pay Rs. 2,600/-

 

The vacancies are in West Bengal Police for the year 2019.

Female candidates are not eligible to apply for the post.

Upper Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST and 03 years for OBC category. Others, if any — As per Govt. norms. Reserved Category candidates from the States other than West Bengal shall be treated as General Category candidates.

 

Physical Standards:
(i) Male Candidates: Height — 167 cms (160 cms for Gorkhas, Garhwalies, Rajbanshis and ST); Chest (unexpanded) — 78 cms (76 cms for Gorkhas, Garhwalies, Rajbanshis and ST); Chest (expanded) — 83 cms (81 cms for Gorkhas, Garhwalies, Rajbanshis and ST); Weight — 57 kgs (53 kgs for Gorkhas, Garhwalies, Rajbanshis and ST)

Candidates must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties.

 

Candidates’ Selection: Selection of candidates will be through Preliminary Written Test, Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Final Written Examination and Interview.

Application Fee: Candidates must pay Rs. 170/- (Rs. 20/- for SC/ST candidates of West Bengal only) as Application Fee. Fee can be paid through Online mode during submission of online application form by using Debit/Credit card or Net banking OR can be paid through Bank by means of fee payment Challan. How to Apply: Candidates may opt to submit their application either through ONLINE or OFFLINE. Online application can be made only through the official website of West Bengal Police — www.wbpolice.gov.in (See Application form’s link given below) from dated 05.02.2019 to 05.03.2019 (5 PM). Candidates making fee payment through Offline mode ie through bank deposit, may submit their application till 07.03.2019

Upon successful payment of prescribed fee and submission of online application form, the system generated Registration/ Acknowledgement Slip with unique registration number will appear on the computer screen. Candidates must print-out it for future correspondence. DO NOT SEND ANY PRINT-OUT/HARD COPY OR DOCUMENTS TO ANYWHERE AT THIS STAGE. All the verification will be done in due course.
