West Bengal government’s – West Bengal Audit and Accounts Service is recruiting some hundreds of Boys and Girls for the post of “Auditor” and “Accounts Officer”. The required qualification and other details were given below—

Required Qualification: Graduate Boys and Girls in Commerce discipline may apply for the post. Chattered or Cost Accountancy course pass candidates were also eligible to apply.

Age: Candidate should be within 35yrs of age as on 1-1-2011. Age relaxation: OBC-3yrs, SC/ST-5yrs and PH candidate- 13yrs.

Pay Scale: Rs.15600 – Rs.42000 and Grade Pay: Rs.5400

Candidates’ selection: Candidates will be selected through West Bengal Public Service Commission’s –“West Bengal Audit and Accounts Service- 2011”. Preliminary Test will be on March at Kolkata and Darjeeling. Candidates qualified from Preliminary Test will be called for Main Written Test.
Main Written Test will be on August at Kolkata. Finally there will be Personality Test.

Preliminary Test will be of 200 marks of Objective questions on following topics—(1) English Composition, (2) General Knowledge, (3) National and International Affairs, (4) Indian History (5) Geography- West Bengal along with India (6) Indian Political and Economics, (7) Indian Constitutions (8) Commerce. There will be 25 Nos. questions on each topics and time allotted- 2 ½ hrs.

Candidates qualified from Preliminary Test will be called for Main Test which will be on following four topics—(1) English Language, (2) Bengali Language, (3) General Knowledge and Current Affairs (4) Business Mathematics and Statistics. Each paper will be of 100 marks and time allotted will be 3 hrs. Beside this candidate should opt any 3 topics as optional from the following—Advanced Accountancy (code-01), Advanced Commercial Geography (code-02), Auditing (code-3), Banking (code-4), Business Organisation and Method (code- 05), Commercial and Industrial Law (code-06), Chemistry (code-07) Accountancy (code-08), Statistics (code-09), Taxation Law and Practice (code-10).

How to Apply: Application form can be prepared on plain full scope paper (32x21cm) and then fill it with own handwriting. Application format can be also downloaded from the official website of West Bengal Accounts and Audit Service—http://www.pscwb.org.in

Along with filled application enclosed the following documents—

  • Recent one copy self signed passport size photograph pasted on application form
  • 2 Nos. self-addressed envelopes without any postal stamp.
  • Madhyamik Certificate and Admit card for age verification and all other educational documents either in Self-Attested or Gazetted Officer attested copies.
  • Attested copies of Caste Certificate for SC/ST and OBC candidates
  • Treasury Challan or Crossed Postal Order of Rs.110 (No fee required for SC/ST candidates) in favour of – “The Secretary, Public Service Commission, West Bengal” and payable at – “G.P.O. Kolkata”.

Last date to Apply: Application should reach within 24 January at the following address—“The Deputy Secretary (Examination), Public Service Commission, West Bengal, 161A, S.P. Mukherjee Road, Kolkata—700 026”.
