The goal of the GNHCP is to demonstrate a safe and green highway while considering climate resilience and the use of green technologies by including provisions for resource conservation using cement-treated sub-base/reclaimed asphalt pavement, use of local/marginal material such as lime, fly ash, waste plastic, and bio-engineering measures for slope protection such as hydroseeding, coco/jute fiber, etc., which will improve the ability to withstand extreme weather conditions.
