HIGH COURT OF MADRAS IS INVITING APPLICATION FOR 82 POSTS OF PERSONAL ASSISTANT AND PERSONAL CLERK. LAST DATE — 18.05.2018
1. PERSONAL ASSISTANT TO THE HON’BLE JUDGES
No. of Vacancies: 71 Nos. (GT-21, BC-18, BCM-03, MBC-17, SC(A)-01, SC-10, ST-01)
Educational Qualification: i) Any Bachelor Degree in Science, Arts, Commerce, Engineering, Medicine, or any other discipline of a recognized University.
ii) Must have passed the Government Technical Examination in Shorthand and Typewriting in English – Higher/ Senior Grade.
iii) Must have passed the Certificate Course in Computer on Office Automation conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education.
Desirable: Having working knowledge in Computer or application of computer in the day-today functioning of Office.
Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum 30 years as on 01.07.2018
Pay Scale: Rs.56,100 – 1,77,500/-
2. PERSONAL ASSISTANT (TO THE REGISTRARS)
No. of Vacancies: 10 Nos. (GT-02, BC-03, BCM-01, MBC-02, SC-02)
Educational Qualification: i) Any Bachelor Degree in Science, Arts, Commerce, Engineering, Medicine, or any other discipline of a recognized University.
ii) Must have passed the Government Technical Examination in Shorthand and Typewriting in English and Tamil – Higher / Senior Grade.
iii) Must have passed the Certificate Course in Computer on Office Automation conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education.
Desirable: Having working knowledge in Computer or application of computer in the day-today functioning of Office.
Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum 30 years as on 01.07.2018
Pay Scale: Rs.36,400 – 1,15,700/-
3. PERSONAL CLERK (TO THE DEPUTY REGISTRARS)
No. of Vacancies: 01 Nos. (MBC/DC)
Educational Qualification: i) Any Bachelor Degree in Science, Arts, Commerce, Engineering, Medicine, or any other discipline of a recognized University.
ii) Must have passed the Government Technical Examination in Shorthand and Typewriting in English and Tamil – Higher / Senior Grade.
iii) Must have passed the Certificate Course in Computer on Office Automation conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education.
Desirable: Having working knowledge in Computer or application of computer in the day-today functioning of Office.
Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum 30 years as on 01.07.2018
Pay Scale: Rs.20,600 – 65,500/-
Note: The candidates who do not possess Certificate Course in Computer on Office Automation, may also apply for the posts. However, the candidate should possess sufficient working knowledge of computer in the day to day functioning of Office. Those candidates who possess Degree (or) Diploma in Computer science (or) Computer Engineering as one of the subjects are exempted from passing the Certificate Course in Computer on Office Automation conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education.
The selected candidates for the posts of Personal Assistant to the Hon’ble Judges and Personal Clerk (to the Deputy Registrars) will be posted at the Principal Seat at Madras (or) at Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court, Madurai and the selected candidates for the post of Personal Assistant (to the Registrars) will be posted at the Principal Seat at Madras (or) at Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court, Madurai (or) Tamil Nadu State Judicial Academy, Chennai (or) Regional Centre of Tamil Nadu State Judicial Academy, at Coimbatore (or) Regional Centre of Tamil Nadu State Judicial Academy at Madurai. Upper Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/SCA/ST/MBC&DC/BC/BCM category.
Reserved Category candidates from other States, i.e. other than Tamil Nadu and Puducherry will be treated as General category candidates.
Candidates’ Selection: Selection of candidates will be through Skill Test and Interview. The Skill Test and Interview will be held only at Chennai. Tentative date for Skill Test for all the posts is 26.05.2018 or 02.06.2018.

Application Fee: Candidates must pay Rs.500/- as Application Fee. Fee can be paid through Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Registrar General, High Court of Madras, payable at Chennai. Candidates should write their Name, Date of Birth and Mobile Number on the reverse of the Demand Draft.
NO APPLICATION FEE REQUIRED IN CASE OF SC(A)/SC/ST CANDIDATES.
