ICMR-National Institute for Research in Tuberculosis (NIRT) is recruiting eligible candidates for 31 posts of Junior Medical Officer (Consultant), Junior Nurse, Project Technical Officer (Med Social Worker/ Epidemiology/ Biostatistics), Project Technician III (Field Worker/ Laboratory Technician), Data Entry Operator and Senior Research Fellow (Study Coordinator). The candidates will be appointed on Temporary basis initially for a period of One year. The vacancies are under different Projects. The candidates will be posted in Chennai. 1. JUNIOR MEDICAL OFFICER (CONSULTANT)
No. of Vacancies: 05 Nos. (UR-04, OBC-01)
Educational Qualification: MBBS degree from a recognized university.
Desirable: Any Postgraduate Degree/ Diploma (MD/ MS/ DNB/ Diploma) in Medical Sciences. Previous experience in conduct of Randomised Clinical Trials.
Age Limit: Maximum 35 years
Consolidated Pay: Rs.60,000/- per month.
2. JUNIOR NURSE
No. of Vacancies: 02 Nos. (UR)
Educational Qualification: High school or equivalent with science subjects plus certificate course in ANM from a recognized institute/ board.
Experience: Five years experience.
Desirable: Diploma in Nursing with experience of working as staff Nurse in a recognized hospital or medical institute.
Age Limit: Maximum 28 years
Consolidated Pay: Rs.17,520/- per month.
3. PROJECT TECHNICAL OFFICER (MED SOCIAL WORKER & EPIDEMIOLOGY/ BIOSTATISTICS)
No. of Vacancies: 04 Nos. (UR-02, SC-01, OBC-01)
Educational Qualification: i) For Project Technical Officer (Med Social Worker): Graduate in Science from a recognized University with 03 years work experience in Medical Social Works from a recognised Institution OR Master’s degree in Medical Social Works/ Sociology.
ii) For Project Technical Officer (Epidemiology/ Biostatistics): Graduate in Biostatistics or Life Science from a recognized University with 03 years work experience from a recognized institute OR Master’s degree in Epidemiology/ Public Health/ Biostatistics.
Age Limit: Maximum 30 years
Consolidated Pay: Rs.30,441/- per month.
4. PROJECT TECHNICIAN III (FIELD WORKER)
No. of Vacancies: 12 Nos. (UR-07, SC-02,OBC-03)
Educational Qualification: 12th pass in science subjects with two years field experience in Health sciences in a recognised organization/ institute.
OR B.Sc with minimum six months field experience in Health Sciences.
Desirable: i) Degree with one year field experience in health science and (ii) Knowledge of Computer applications – Microsoft word, excel, power point and usage of tablets for data collection.
Age Limit: Maximum 30 years
Consolidated Pay: Rs.17,520/- per month.
5. PROJECT TECHNICIAN III (LABORATORY TECHNICIAN)
No. of Vacancies: 04 Nos. (UR-03, OBC-01)
Educational Qualification: 12th pass in science subjects AND
Two years Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology OR One year Diploma in Med Laboratory Technology with one year laboratory experience in a recognised organization/ institution OR Two years laboratory experience in a government recognised organisation/ institution.
Desirable: Training and competency in AFB smear, culture; handling of mycobacterial cultures and drug susceptibility testing of MTB by LJ and MGIT; Knowledge of Microsoft word, excel and power point.
Age Limit: Maximum 30 years
Consolidated Pay: Rs.17,520/- per month.
6. DATA ENTRY OPERATOR (B)
No. of Vacancies: 03 Nos. (UR-01, SC-01, OBC-01)
Educational Qualification: i) Intermediate or 12th pass in science subjects from a recognized board with DOEACC “A” level from a recognized institute and/ or two years experience in EDP work in Govt. or any other recognized organization/ institute.
ii) Data entry speed of 9500 key depressions per hour on computer.
Desirable: i) Knowledge of computer applications.
ii) Experience in data entry for research – clinical trial databases, medical transcription or in the relevant field.
Age Limit: Maximum 28 years
Consolidated Pay: Rs.17,520/- per month.
7. SENIOR RESEARCH FELLOW (STUDY COORDINATOR)
No. of Vacancies: 01 Nos. (UR)
Educational Qualification: 1st or 2nd Class M.Sc. in Life Science / Biotechnology/ Microbiology/ Biochemistry from a recognized University.
Experience: Two years research experience.
Desirable: i) GATE/ GPAT/ NET or equivalent examination qualified candidates will have preference.
ii) Experience in clinical/ bacteriological research.
Age Limit: Maximum 35 years
Consolidated Pay: Rs.28,000/- per month.
The candidates will be appointed on Temporary basis initially for a period of One year. The candidates will be posted in Chennai. The vacancies are under different Projects.
Upper Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST, 03 years for OBC and 10 years for PWD category. Ex-Serviceman & Others, if any — As per Govt. norms.
Candidates’ Selection: Selection of candidates will be through Interview/ Written Test.
