The India-Bangladesh Friendship Pipeline (IBFPL) will be officially opened today by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bangladeshi PM Sheikh Hasina via video conference.

- 2018 saw the project’s construction get underway thanks to grant money from India.
- Seven districts in North Bangladesh will get a yearly delivery of 1 million metric tonnes of high-speed diesel via the pipeline.
- The pipeline connects the Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) marketing terminal in Siliguri with Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation’s Parbatipur depot (BPC).
- The gasoline transportation agreement has a 15-year term with a possible extension.
The operation of the India-Bangladesh Friendship Pipeline would establish a long-term, dependable, economical, and environmentally friendly method of transferring HSD from India to Bangladesh and will further strengthen bilateral cooperation in the area of energy security.

- ভারত থেকে বাংলাদেশে ডিজেল পরিবহনের জন্য 131.5 কিলোমিটার দীর্ঘ পাইপলাইন ব্যবহার করা হবে।
- চলতি বছরের জুনে পরীক্ষামূলকভাবে সরবরাহ শুরু হবে।
- ভারত থেকে অর্থ অনুদানের জন্য 2018 সালে প্রকল্পের নির্মাণকাজ শুরু হয়েছে।
- উত্তর বাংলাদেশের সাতটি জেলা পাইপলাইনের মাধ্যমে বছরে ১০ লাখ মেট্রিক টন হাই-স্পিড ডিজেল সরবরাহ করবে।
- পাইপলাইনটি শিলিগুড়িতে নুমালিগড় রিফাইনারি লিমিটেড (NRL) মার্কেটিং টার্মিনালকে বাংলাদেশ পেট্রোলিয়াম কর্পোরেশনের পার্বতীপুর ডিপো (BPC) এর সাথে সংযুক্ত করে।
