AIRMEN IN GROUP ‘Y’ (NON-TECHNICAL TRADES) IN INDIAN AIR FORCE AS OUTSTANDING SPORTSMEN
Educational Qualification: Passed 10+2 or equivalent examination in any stream / subjects from recognized Board.
Sports Eligibility:
i) Candidates should have represented the country in Junior/ Senior International meets in any of the below mentioned sports discipline.
ii) Candidates should have attained the minimum standard of 5th place in the Junior National Championship, represented the State/ Units in Senior National Championships or Inter University Championship in below mentioned sports discipline.
(iii) In team events, the candidates should have represented state in Junior National Championship and National School Tournament conducted by School Games Federation of India (SGFI) in below mentioned sports discipline.
Note: The current achievement would be given preference during selection trials.
Name of the eligible Sports: Athletics, Basketball, Boxing, Cricket, Diving, Golf, Gymnastics, Hockey, Kabaddi, Lawn Tennis, Squash, Swimming, Volleyball, Water Polo, Weight Lifting, Wrestling and Wushu.
Note: Candidates represented International/ National level and achieved position but not possessing 10+2 educational qualification may also apply.
Age Limit: Born between 13/01/1998 to 02/01/2002.
Consolidated Pay: Rs.26,900/- per month.
Only Unmarried Male candidates are eligible to apply.
The selected candidates will initially be sent for a Joint Basic Phase Training (JBPT) at Basic Training Institute, Belagavi (Karnataka). During training, a stipend of Rs. 14,600/- per month will be paid to the candidates.
Physical Standards:
(i) Male Candidates: Height — 152.5 cm; Chest — Minimum range of expansion: 5 cm; Weight — Proportionate to height and age.
Candidates must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties. For more details please see the Official Advt.
Candidates’ Selection: Selection of candidates will be through Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Sports Skill Trials and Medical Examination. The Trials will be held at Delhi and NCR.
