SAILORS
1. DIRECT ENTRY PETTY OFFICER
Educational Qualification: 10+2 qualified in any stream or equivalent examination.
Sports Qualification:
i) Team Games: Should have participated at International/ National/ State level at junior/ senior level or represented a University in the Inter University tournament
ii) Individual Events: Should have attained a minimum of 6th position in Nationals (seniors) or 3rd position in National (juniors) or 3rd position in the Inter University meets.
Age Limit: Minimum 17 years and maximum 22 years.
Pay Scale: Rs.21,700- 43,100/-
2. SENIOR SECONDARY RECRUIT (SSR)
Educational Qualification: 10+2 qualified in any stream or equivalent examination.
Sports Qualification: Should have participated at International/ National/ State level or represented a University in the Inter University tournament.
Age Limit: Minimum 17 years and maximum 21 years.
Pay Scale: Rs.21,700- 43,100/-
3. MATRIC RECRUITS (MR)
Educational Qualification: 10th standard/ equivalent qualified.
Sports Qualification: Should have participated at International/ National/ State level tournament.
Age Limit: Minimum 17 years and maximum 21 years.
Pay Scale: Rs.21,700- 43,100/-
Name of Sports disciplines: Athletics, Aquatics, Basket-ball, Boxing, Cricket, Football, Gymnastics, Handball, Hockey, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Weightlifting, Wrestling, Squash, ,Best Physique, Fencing, Golf, Tennis, Kayaking & Canoeing, Rowing, Shooting, Sailing & Wind Surfing and Equestrian (Horse Polo).
Only unmarried Male candidates are eligible to apply.
The selected candidates will undergo initial training for the course at INS Chilka followed by Professional training in the allotted trade in various Naval Training Establishments. During the initial training period, a stipend of Rs. 14,600/- per month will be paid to the candidates.
Physical Standards:
(i) Male Candidates: Height — 157 cms. Weight and Chest should be proportionate. Minimum Chest expansion of 5 cms.
Candidates must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties.
Candidates’ Selection: Selection of candidates will be on the basis of Sports Achievements, Trials and Medical Examination.
