Indian Army is inviting application from the eligible candidates for 96 posts of Junior Commissioned Officers (Religious Teacher) for RRT 87 & 88 courses. JUNIOR COMMISSIONED OFFICERS (RELIGIOUS TEACHER) FOR RRT 87 & 88 COURSES
No. of Vacancies: 96 Nos.

Category wise vacancies:

i) Pandit: 78 posts
ii) Pandit (Gorkha) for Gorkha Regiments: 03 posts
iii) Granthi: 06 posts
iv) Maulvi (Sunni): 05 posts
v) Maulvi (Shia) for Ladakh Scouts: 01 post
vi) Padre: 02 posts
vii) Bodh Monk (Mahayana) for Ladakh Scouts: 01 post

 

Educational Qualification:
i) For Pandit and Pandit (Gorkha) for Gorkha Regiment: Hindu candidates with Acharya in Sanskrit OR Shastri in Sanskrit with one year diploma in ‘Karam Kand’.
ii) For Granthi: Sikh candidates with ‘Gyani’ in Punjabi.
iii) For Maulvi and Maulvi (Shia) for Ladakh Scouts: Muslim candidates with Maulvi Alim in Arabic or Adib Alim in Urdu.
iv) For Padre: Christian candidates who have been ordained priesthood by the appropriate ecclesiastical authority and is still on the approved list of the local Bishop.
v) For Bodh Monk (Mahayana): Buddhist (Mahayana) candidates who have been ordained Monk/ Buddhist Priest, by the Appropriate Authority.
The Appropriate Authority will mean Head Priest of the Monastery where the candidate has been initiated into priesthood. The head priest should be in possession of Geshe (PhD) of Khanpa or Lopon or Rabjam with proper certificate from Monastery.

 

Age Limit: Minimum 25 years and maximum 34 years as on 01/10/2019.

 

Only Male candidates are eligible to apply.

The selected candidates will undergo Six (06) weeks of Basic training at BEG and Centre, Kirkee followed by Eleven (11) weeks of training specific to category as applied by the candidates at Institute of National Integration (INI), Pune.

 

Physical Standards:
(i) Male Candidates: Height — 160 cm (157 for Gorkhas & Ladakhi region candidates); Chest (unexpanded) — 77 cm; Chest (expanded) — 82 cm; Weight — 50 kg (48 kg for Gorkhas).
Candidates must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties.

 

Candidates’ Selection: Selection of candidates will be through Physical Fitness Test, Medical Examination, Written Examination and Interview. The written examination will be conducted on 24/02/2019.

How to Apply: Interested and eligible candidates may apply online only through the official website of Indian Army — www.joinindianarmy.nic.in (See Application form’s link given below) from dated 05/10/2018 to 03/11/2018.

Candidates applying for Pandit (Gorkha), Maulvi (Shia) & Bodh Monk (Mahayana) are required the apply through Off-line mode only in the prescribed Application Form. The duly filled in Application Form should be sent at the below mentioned address, on or before 18/11/2018:

i) For Pandit (Gorkha): Gorkha Recruiting Depot, Kunraghat, PIN-901108 c/o 56 APO.
ii) For Maulvi (Shia): Ladakh Scouts Regimental Centre, Leh, PIN – 910368 c/o 56 APO.
iii) For Bodh Monk: Ladakh Scouts Regimental Centre, Leh, PIN – 910368 c/o 56 APO.

Candidates applying for Junior Commissioned Officer (Religious Teacher) for Pandit, Granthi, Padri and Maulvi (Sunni) categories should apply through Online mode only.

 

Upon successful submission of online application form, the system generated Registration/ Acknowledgement Slip with unique registration number will appear on the computer screen. Candidates must print-out it for future correspondence. DO NOT SEND ANY PRINT-OUT/HARD COPY OR DOCUMENTS TO ANYWHERE AT THIS STAGE. All the verification will be done in due course.
