Govt. of Kerala General Education is inviting application from the eligible candidates for posts of Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (K-TET)- August 2017. On basis of K-TET, the selection of the post to be teacher in Lower Primary, Upper Primary and High School Classes will be done. GOVT. OF KERALA GENERAL EDUCATION INVITES ONLINE APPLICATION FOR POSTS OF KERALA TEACHER ELIGIBILITY TEST (K-TET)- AUGUST 2017. LAST DATE — 17/07/2017 for Step-I and 18/07/2017 for Step II
KERALA TEACHER ELIGIBILITY TEST (K-TET)-
On basis of this examination the recruitment to the post of Teacher for Lower Primary Classes, Upper Primary Class, High School Classes, Language Teachers (Arabic, Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu) for Upper Primary class and Specialist Teachers (Art & Craft) / Physical Education teacher for High school, will be done.
The Qualification for the post of Teacher as per classes are as follows–
I. Lower Primary Teacher- Category-I
Educational Qualification:
Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and two year Trained Teachers’ Certificate (TTC)
OR Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education in accordance with NCTE
OR Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)
OR Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2 year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
II. Upper Primary Teacher- Category-II
Educational Qualification:
B.A/B.Sc./B.Com. and 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education/Trained Teachers’ Certificate (TTC) conducted by Board of Examination, Govt. of Kerala or its equivalent.
OR
B.A/B.Sc/B.Com with at least 45% marks and 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.), in accordance with NCTE (Recognition, Norms and Procedure) regulations issued from time to time in this regard.
OR
Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)
OR
Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A. Ed or B.Sc.Ed.
III) For High School classes- Category-III
Educational Qualification:
i) BA/BSc/B.Com with at least 45% marks and a B.Ed. Degree in the subject concerned.
ii) For Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology, those who have MSc.Ed. Degree in the subject concerned with not less than 50% marks from one of the Regional Institutes of Education sponsored by NCERT will be eligible to apply.
For Botany and Zoology subjects, those with MSc.Ed. Degree in Life Science with not less than 50% marks from any of the Regional Institutes of Education are eligible to apply.
IV. Language Teacher and Specialist Teacher / Physical Education teachers- Category IV.
Educational Qualification:
For Language teachers the qualification will be as per Chapter XXXI of Kerala education ACT and Rules.
For Specialist Teacher / Physical Education teachers candidates should meets the norms prescribed by the State Govt. till the time when NCTE lays down the minimum qualification.

Note: Candidates belonging to SC/ST and differently abled categories will be granted a relaxation of 5% marks and 3% marks for OBC in the Educational Qualification.
Age Limit: No upper age limit.
Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (K-TET 2017) will be held on 12/08/2017 for (Category I to II) and 19/08/2017 for (Category III to IV).

Examination Fee: Candidates must pay Rs.500/- (Rs.250/- for SC/ST and PWD) as Examination Fee. Fee can be paid through Online mode during submission of online application form by using Debit/Credit card or Net banking OR can be paid through Bank by means of fee payment Challan. Upon successful payment of prescribed fee and submission of online application form, the system generated Registration/ Acknowledgement Slip with unique registration number will appear on the computer screen. Candidates must print-out it for future correspondence. DO NOT SEND ANY PRINT-OUT/HARD COPY OR DOCUMENTS TO ANYWHERE AT THIS STAGE. All the verification will be done in due course.
