MAZAGON DOCK SHIPBUILDERS LIMITED IS INVITING APPLICATION FOR 244 TRADE APPRENTICES IN TRADES – ELECTRICIAN, FITTER, PIPE FITTER, STRUCTURAL FITTER, MARINE PAINTER, ELECTRONIC MECHANIC, CARPENTER, FITTER STRUCTURAL, RIGGER AND WELDER (G&E). LAST DATE — 06/07/2016 (5pm)
TRADE APPRENTICES under the Apprentices Act, 1961 for the following trades:—
Group ‘A’ (10th Class Passed). Name of the trades and number of vacancies are as follows—
i. Electrician: 20 posts (UR-12, OBC-05, SC-02, ST-01)
ii. Fitter: 25 posts (UR-15, OBC-06, SC-02, ST-02)
iii. Pipe Fitter: 21 posts (UR-13, OBC-05, SC-02, ST-01)
iv. Structural Fitter: 26 posts (UR-15, OBC-07, SC-02, ST-02)
Educational Qualification: Candidate should have Passed SSC/Class 10 in First attempt with General Science & Mathematics with minimum 50% marks (Pass Class for SC/ST in First Attempt). Candidates with Higher qualification may also apply. However, eligibility will be based on SSC marks qualification only.
Age Limit: Minimum -15 years and maximum -19 years as on 01.06.2016
Stipend Pay: Rs.6695/- for First year, Rs.7651/- for Second year and Rs.8608/- for Third year
Group ‘B’ (ITI Passed). Name of the trades and number of vacancies are as follows—
i. Marine Painter: 15 posts (UR-09, OBC-04, SC-01, ST-01)
ii. Electronic Mechanic: 24 posts (UR-14, OBC-06, SC-02, ST-02)
iii. Carpenter: 16 posts (UR-10, OBC-04, SC-01, ST-01)
iv. Fitter Structural: 20 posts (UR-12, OBC-05, SC-02, ST-01)
Educational Qualification: Candidates should have I.T.I passed in first attempt in respective trades with 50% marks for General / OBC / AFC / PH and Pass Class for SC/ST in First Attempt Only.
Age Limit: Minimum-16 years and maximum – 21 years as on 01.06.2016
Stipend Pay: Rs.7651/- for first year and Rs.8608/- for Second year.
Group ‘C’ (8th Class Passed). Name of the trades and number of vacancies are as follows—
i. Rigger: 43 posts (UR-25, OBC-11, SC-04, ST-03)
ii. Welder (G & E): 34 posts (UR-20, OBC-09, SC-03, ST-02)
Educational Qualification: Class 8th standard passed in first attempt with Science & Mathematics with 50% marks (Pass Class for SC/ST in First Attempt)
Age Limit: Minimum-14 years and maximum-18 years as on 01.06.2016
Stipend Pay: Rs.6695/- for first year and Rs.7651/- for Second year.
Age Limit (For all above posts/discipline): Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST, 03 years for OBC and 10 years for PWD category. Ex-Serviceman & Others, if any – As per Govt. norms.
Candidates’ Selection: Selection of the candidates will be through Written Examination, Medical Examination and Trade Allotment.

Candidates selected for Group “A” Trades will be on training period of three years whereas two years for Group B and C Trades.
