MEDICAL OFFICERS (ASSISTANT SURGEON)
No. of Vacancies: 1950 Nos. (UR-838, SC-435, ST-677)
Educational Qualification:
i) MBBS or equivalent Degree from a recognized Medical College/ Institution.
ii) Must have a valid Registration Certificate.
iii) Possess required conversion certificates recognized by Medical Council of India (MCI) in case of candidates having Degrees from Universities of Foreign countries.
iv) The candidate should be able to read, write and speak Odia, and must have-
a. Passed Middle School examination in Odia as a language subject, or
b. Passed Matriculation or equivalent examination with Odia as a medium of examination in non-language subject, or
c. Passed in Odia as Language subject in the final examination of Class VII or above, or
d. Passed a test in Odia in Middle School Standard conducted by the School & Mass Education Department.
Age Limit: Minimum 21 years and maximum 32 years as on 01/01/2019.
Pay Scale: Rs.15,600-39,100/- with Grade Pay Rs.5,400/-

The selected candidates will be on Probation for a period of two years.
Reserved Category candidates from the States other than Odisha shall be treated as General Candidates.
Upper Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST/Women/Ex-servicemen and 10 years for PWD category.
Candidates’ Selection: Selection of candidates will be through Written Examination. The Written Examination is likely to be held on 17/02/2019. The examination will be held at Cuttack/ Bhubaneswar.
